I know this isnt really the best place to ask this question, however since iam sure a lot of us here are not very nice to our hard drives and download and move around tons of files, ill ask it anyways. Has anyone seen this error? "Delayed Write Failed" Got it last night a lot, it seemed to be a corrupted file or two. I found some files that caused it to lock up and pump out errors and deleted them not sure if the problem is going to continue or not, guess ill see as i watch more anime. Looking around the net it might be because of the mass file transfers i do to my poor hard drive. (I am not talking about my system drive but my slave drive aka storage drive aka anime and manga drive) Before this problem started i did reorganized my anime folder and moved about 80 gigs worth of videos into differnt folders on my D drive so that might be part of the problem and i was downloading at the time and watching a video laugh (I treat my system drive with more care then my other one.) What iam hoping is i that i didnt fry my harddrive and the error is coming from a section of my harddrive that is now F'ed up. if thats the case i got a bit of work ahead of me. Hopefully it was just a few files that got corrupted and deleteing them will solve the problem (i really really really dont want to transfer all my anime to another medium then format or get a new hard drive lol)

Anyways if any of you guys have seen this error or know anything about it let me know. (I have tried defraging and disk checking both lock up which makes me worry no .)

I have Norton 360 up and running, at all times so i highly doubt its a virus. That and the only things ive downloaded were off of baka-updates or animesuki.

It isn't virus related. I get it whenever transferring files sometimes through USB 2. I find directly connecting to a port on the laptop/desktop is far more reliable than a mains powered usb hub. So far i've not experienced any corruption, but on the occassion I do a cut/paste job and it conks out with this error, i will lose whatever was being transferred at the time, so I often do a copy/paste instead.
I did a flash update on a DVD-R recorder firmware to a new version (Pioneer DVR-112D - i think) and everytime i use it to burn stuff, or turn it off on it's casing switch, it throws up these problems. So if a recent firmware flash happened, try and revert back if possible.

Generally i find USB2 a pain in the ass, even if i does work fast if its unreliable what good is it. These are some suggestions but not the definitive answer to fixing it, but i hope it helps.

Your hard drive is probably dying. Better go to a tech forum for answers and get a new external hard drive and back up as much as possible.
