I'd prefer it to be within the Mature/Seinen boundaries but Shounen would work as well. I'm those type of person that value art highly over plot when evaluating a manga hence it doesn't need to be deep/smart story telling...just something decent that keep your interests and motivate you to follow through as it unfold (a few plot twists here and there, well-paced character development..etc). Simply put I can sacrifice some plot for art and not vice-versa. Some examples I know of that touches on that theme would be Code Geass(anime), Zettai Karen Children, Mouse, Sekirei(getting there...I think)...maybe more as I recall but a bad example for my search would be Kateikyoushi Hitman Reborn!. My reading/completed list is public so feel free to check those and to save the trouble of having someone redirect this - a somewhat similar topic to mine.

-Genre to avoid Shoujo/Josei and any of the BL.
-Please exclude one-shots and anything below 4-5 volumes.

-Much thanks and appreciation!

Isnt the girls in Zettai Karen too young? I havent read it myself because I dont like the concept of 10 year old girls. So if you tell me, that they are actually older I will give it a shot.

Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle the evil male mastermind that control everything from the shadow. yup.
Inuyasha qualifies.
Seimaden. ok i know it's classified as shojo and shonen ai, but the shonen-ai part occurs to 2 side character and the setting is in human-demon war. but the romance is major part of the theme so of you really don't like romance, avoid it, but otherwise have quite abit of devious thinking/planning, as well as actions. you get to see a lot of "I am a demon overlord with tragic past and many minion. i have power but not love" kind of stuff here. very manupulitive.
Demon Diary helarious version. not manupulative or evil in any way. the young demon lord (who is very much innocent) gathers minions (who preety much disrespect him but stil love him) and must prove himself to be a great demon lord (and try very hard to be evil)

Its one of the unique manga where the character actually age as the story progress and the author did hint about the upcoming future ("something you can look forward to" in a sense) so basically the time flow for the girls in the story I believe would be child -> teenage -> adult. As of the latest volume they're currently in middle school (7th-8th grade I believe in U.S)

Litchi Hikari Club fits the bill. Complex plot, gorgeous art, seinen, very mature. The downside is that it's short and what romance there is some shounen-ai, but it's very minor and and "romance" is much too pretty a word for it. Anyway, I feel the need to suggest this work whenever I can.
