What is the best way to translate a dialect or accent of the original language that is not the norm (e.g., Kansai-ben)?
Different country's English accent (e.g., Irish or Australian)
Different American regional accent (e.g., Southern)
Have the character use different slang (e.g., 'pops' instead of 'dad')

I started reading a manga a while back and now i can't remember the name of it.

It's set in a school where the students are divided into 2 classes, those who learn magic and those who learn swordsmanship. The main character is one of the students who learns swordsmanship and is always using a an old rusty sword that I think was given to him by his grandmother. The main character later makes friends with a couple of students from the magic class.
