Hi all, how's it going?

Right now I'm really into mangas that center around a group of young, probably in high school, girls doing youthful and crazy things. They are pretty much almost oblivious about the big bad world, or if they are aware of it, they don't take it too seriously. They would be too busy being young and energetic XD. The manga should be mainly comedic and lighthearted, so minimal amount of drama, because I want to see girls mainly doing fun things with each other!

Example of mangas (and I love them both):
High School Girls
Azumanga Daioh

Comedy is a must! I'd rather NOT see any romance, or at least it should be a very side thing, because the manga should instead focus on the friendship between girls and just having good ol' fun. It should be a given that there should be no, or minimal, male characters. And NO main male characters!

This request would probably overlap into some yuri/shoujo ai stuff, which I don't mind. But the girl-on-girl love should not take center stage, because like I said i want the focus to be on their friendship.

This time, I'd go with all and any genres, even ecchi, so rec away!

I recommend K-On!. The four, eventually five girls join the light music club and start a band, except the guitarist can't play guitar! A 4-comi manga. Hilarious, no guys really at all, and very cute. Yui is a complete ditz at times, and pretty much just loves sweet things!

sketchbook only a few boys... but it's a fun group. a must read... you'll enjoy it

Do I see a pattern here? They're all either shounen or seinen. Not that I'm against that at all, but I wonder why shoujo/josei don't feature these sorts of themes more instead of the generic doki-doki romance all the time.

Yotsubato! - I'm ashamed to reccomend this but maybe you haven't read this yet (I know that it isn't exactly what you want but some parts fits)
Kill me baby - only 2 friends (+ninja) and not really high school but quite funny

Hyakko fits pretty well, I think.
Hidamari Sketch - Definitely.
Nichijou - Sort of...
Kanamemo sounds about right, though I haven't read it

I second Minami-ke and Kill Me Baby - they're funny!

Just out of curiousity, any mangas like this but shoujo/josei? Not that I'm particularly looking for any in that demography, but just wondering if there are any?

There are some male characters, but they don't get nearly as much focus as the main girls.
