I'm currently reading Dawn - Tsumetai Te and I like the way the main character changes because of things that happen to him - fighting makes him isolate himself from other people, he thinks about himself with disgust, etc. I think that this is what a person would do in real life - unlike, for example, Allen from D. Gray-Man who can fight and suffer and then laugh as if nothing happened.

Basically, I want a manga with characters behaving realistically, for example:
- reacting to some events in a realistic way: Dawn - Tsumetai Te or Fullmetal Alchemist- unlike other shounen manga with "Okay, someone important died so we will be sad for one chapter and then move on to another arc and forget about it" attitude, tragic events in FMA have a big impact on Al and Ed.
- having a realistic personality, in other words characters that are not black-and-white: Vinland Saga. There are very few completely evil and completely good characters (Askeladd is my personal favourite).
- realistic relations between characters: Beck (except for the first 6 volumes or so) - although the band members are friends, there are also some conflicts between them, which is very natural. It's the same with the Koyuki-Maho relationship. Also 7 Seeds, but I won't explain why because this topic is already too long biggrin

Manga that is psychological but not what I want:
- Liar Game: I can't imagine characters like Yokoya or Harimoto existing in real life.
- 20th Century Boys: The manga is great, but there is too big difference between good and bad characters (too black-and-white).

Sorry for this overly long topic, but I wanted to give as many details as I could biggrin
And please no ecchi, smut, yuri. Shounen-ai is fine.

I'm pretty sure Hatsukanezumi no Jikan fits the bill.

I think Umimachi Diary is like this too, but only 1 chapter has been scanned, so I'm not really sure.

Undercurrent , Seizon - Life , Futatsu no Spica

Pet Shop of Horrors and Yumekui Kenbun embody psychological realism in a rather twisted sense, but I'm pretty certain they suit your criteria.

Loveless - I've been recommending this one a lot lately...But it really does fit here.

Bakuman I think, though I haven't read it.

I wonder if I misunderstood your request...most of these are slice-of-life manga, but all except one of your examples are action-oriented; hope you don't mind that!

You don't have your lists made public so I don't know if you've already read these or not. Anyway, my recommendations...

Homunculus
Solanin, Oyasumi Punpun and anything else by Asano Inio
Ikigami
Historie
Vagabond
Bambino!
Also, Hatsukanezumi no Jikan seconded.

I don't mind it at all smile I gave action manga as examples so that people wouldn't think that the manga itself has to be realistic.
So far there are many suggestions I haven't read so there's no need for me to make my lists public, I think.
