I would like to solve this issue because people are always changing the genre of Aki Sora. Here is my opinion. I believe that this manga is Hentai. Smut, "soft porn" and ecchi show 1 or 2 scenes of sex and focuses mainly on the lead up or after sex. However a majority of this manga has actual sex scenes, just like in porno's. Almost 75-90% of each chapter has someone sleeping with someone else. Granted there are about 1-2 chapters where there is no sex at all but I believe that the rest of the manga speaks for itself.
Some might say that the genitalia are never shown in the act but once again, you are watching people sleep with someone. There is not enough plot to overwrite that fact.
Should we keep this a "hentai" series or not

Those who say no please tell us why, we all want you explanations for the amount of sex there is

Nope it's not a hentai.

The lack of genitalia and graphic detail is was seperates it from being a hentai. You read a hentai and compare it to this. You can safely say that hentai is far more graphic.
I mean, that's like calling Koi wo Suru no ga Shigoto desu a hentai.
Spoiler (highlight to view)
It has a sex scene in like every chapter. But there's no detail

That's why it's classified as Adult, and that's what differs Adult from Hentai I believe.
I'll add that there's a similar case with Love Junkies too, but again, it's just not hentai :/

But Aki Sora is so close, that if the mangaka was to draw those sex scenes more graphically, I think it would then become classified as hentai.

But as of now, I believe it's not fit for that category.

No.

Lots of non-hentai have sex in most of their chapters. Hentai sex is more detailed, graphic and a larger part of each chapter.

Ok, i've seen and read a big amount of animes/mangas and to be honest, Aki Sora as it stands its no where near a hentai. One of the reasons is the graphic content, compare a real hentai with Aki Sora and you will get the difference, just because there are sex scenes and something nastier than that as long as there isn't anything graphicaly shown (you know what i'm talking about) Aki Sora remains a mature tagged manga/anime.

And lets be straight, there are countless mangas or animes that have sex scenes yet they are far from being hentai. In a hentai all the action that plot revolves around sex, all that happens there leads only to sex, while even if we like it or not Aki Sora still has some lame plot out there (which in the latest chapters kinda started developing).

People have the tendency to call everything that contains sexual content a hentai and thats extremely wrong. As long as the sex scenes and not graphicaly explicit then it is not a hentai.

@HoutouRakuda: You think that 2 people sleeping toghether is something out of common in manga/animes? You think that sex scenes are really out of common in non-hentai mangas/animes? Boy you need to do some more research before you decide to believe something because sex as long as it isn't graphicaly explicit it cannot be called a hentai, this does not apply to animes/mangas only but to real movies as well. It is true that there are only sex scenes and even worse in this manga but as long as it doesn't cross a certain line it cannot be called a hentai, rather a borderline H. As i said compare a real hentai with Aki Sora and the differences are obvious.

It's not hentai because the publisher releases it for sale to general audiences without any kind of age restriction. Ultimately that's what it comes down to. It doesn't show genitals, so it doesn't even come close to most hentai out there. It may be hard to believe, but having eroticism as one of the main themes of a series doesn't make it porn if it's done without being overtly graphic.

I'd say no and I agree with the points made by those who said no before I did. You could really compare it to hardcore and softcore pornography. Hentai would be hardcore and this would be softcore.

Being or not hentai, It doesn't really matter. Is a very stupid, weak and grotesquely twisted plot. Very lame attempt to shock with psycho-lesbians armed with scissors that any weak guy could bitch-slap (but not this sissy boy). And the mother/aunt thing? Oh, horrible! (horribly lame).

I'm dropping this manga.

No, it's not. Calling this Hentai is like calling an Erotic Thriller movie a Porno. Just because there's a lot of sex scenes doesn't mean it's instantly porn or hentai..it just means it's "steamy". The difference is graphic content. Pornographic material and hentai show everything and leave little to nothing to the imagination. The sex also take up most of the focus..if not all of it. Sex isn't the sole focus of Aki-Sora. It is close though..more graphically explicit and less focus on story for sex scenes and it would be a Hentai.

This. none Putting what you think is the correct genre is ridiculous, and obviously leads to a mess. There is a reason why Naruto and One Piece have to keep up the action, which is because they are, I don't know, officially labeled as such? confused
