Does anyone know of nonfiction manga? The only one I could think of is Densha Otoko, which I think is based on a true story rather than being a faithful recounting.

Or possibly a historical fiction that is highly accurate?

Project X: Cup Noodle
And maybe Lady Mitsuko, Bronze no Tenshi, Rose of Versailles, Porando Hishi Ten no Hate Made.
And I'm pretty sure The Empress Catharina is meant to be pretty accurate, although I haven't read it. It's been translated into French, I think.

You could also check out the Biography/Autobiography category.

Henjin Henkutsu Retsuden - Kinda.

I guess the Project X series works too.

Thanks for the suggestions!

I was talking with a friend about books we've read recently and she had just finished Pyongyang: A Journey in North Korea, a graphic novel memoir. I mentioned that I'd never read a graphic novel that wasn't a manga. She's never read manga and asked if I knew of any that were nonfiction, so I came here to ask.

I'll pass the titles on to her. smile
