Personally, I'm really tired of reading things where the lovers have no transition from strangers/friends/whatever they are to each other to more. Many romance mangas that i have read make too big of a leap, too quickly. I'm really looking for something that has the to-be lovers interacting in a funny/sweet way and slowly falling for each other. <33
I prefer a sweet and light romance. No intense drama please. However, if the manga is very good in your opinion, then I don't mind a little.

Also, please don't suggest the following as I have read/am reading:
Fruits Basket
Beauty Pop
Kaichou wa maid sama
Peach Girl
Host Club
Special A
Love com
Nana

Thanks so much! =D

have you tried Ai Yazawas other titles? tenshi nanka ja nai and Gokinjo Monogatari
are both very good, they definitely show a growth in all characters and its Ai Yazawa so its executed well (imho)

I disagree with some of the manga on your list (e.g. Special A and Peach Girl.

For well developed romance:
Onani Master Kurosawa
Emma
Goodnight Punpun
Torikagoshou no Kyou mo Nemutai Juunintachi

I second:
Cat Street
[m]Ashiteruze Baby[/m]

My list was just of the romance-ish mangas i have read or am reading. I didn't want any of them suggested. Sorry for not making it clear.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone smile

I looked through my list and picked out some that I thought would fit with your requirements (slower romance, no intense drama)
Dear Mine -Story about a girl who is betrothed to the head of a large company. The romance develops quite nicely (even though the series is quite short) Though be warned the age gap between the two is a bit large.
Mix Vegetable -Pastry chef's daughter want's to be a sushi chef, sushi chef's son want's to be a pasty chef, both very determined to reach their goal. The romance has a nice pace and there is very little drama.
Koko ni Iru yo! -Hikage is an outcast of her class and wants to change and become a brighter person. The romance is there but sometimes it seems more of a side plot, but it's there and it develops slowly.

I also second Dengeki Daisy (Though that has some drama...), Charming Junkie and Kimi ni Todoke.

I'm also interested in something with this plot.

I've got a couple suggestion too biggrin First I second practically everything here, as most I have read or have on my wish list as I await more chapters. But I want to add Love so Life as it is adorable (but not in a way that's too sugary which is nice) also I think [m]Skip Beat[/m] fits though we're 150+ chapters in and there's not really any romantic development but it still doesn't feel dragged out. However with Skip Beat I find it's a better read when you have a lot of chapters, reading a chapter and then waiting the next, personally, I loose interest because sometimes not a hell of a lot happens in one chapter. Mars someone all ready suggested but I've got to put my two cents in because it's one of my favourite mangas, granted it is dramatic - it really is your typical popular bad boy meets innocent introverted good girl type story and all the drama that comes with it. Another dramatic one but with what I thought was a well developed relationship was Cipher.

Off the top of my head also, though I'm not sure they fit exactly:
[m]Ashita no Ojousama[/m] - josei and romance isn't the main plot, about an aspiring playwrite who develops a friendship and with a popular actor
Land of the Blindfolded - sort of love triangle-y but not in a bad way. Been a while since I read it but if I recall she has supernatural powers and meets two guys who also have them - hilarity like only shoujo can do ensues
Sora Log - cute somewhat innocent happy-go-lucky sort of girl who loves stargazing befriends the school bad boy
Hotaru no Hikari - there's a sort of love triangle on the go, she's dating a younger guy but living with her boss due to certain circumstances. Honestly I prefer the friendship she has with her boss to the romance so far...

Parfait Tic! a manga with lots of character development in my opinion (although I've only read to chapter 55)
Barairo My Honey a little action, but the characters have some development before they fall in love.
Ai Hime they fall in love almost instantaneously (sorry for the bad spelling) but the story after is very cute and light. Also, anything else by this author.
Beast Master drama, but it's definately worth it.
Kingyo Sou she may fall in love fast but it's very sweet and touching.
Youth Gone wild and The One although they're very drama orientated
Perfect Girl Evolution possibly?
Shiawase Kissa Sanchoume

Basara and Red River they may have a lot of drama but they are very good in my opinion.

Dengeki Daisy. Definately one you should read.
It's by the same guy who did Beast Master.
