I'm looking for a manga with a character who can't see any reason to continue living (because of past trauma, for example), but there's one thing that keeps him alive, and if it disappeared, the character's life would have no sense. It can be anything - another person (either friendship or a romantic relationship), a hobby, a duty, etc.

Examples:
Hakushaku Cain Series - Riff often mentions that he wouldn't be able to live without Cain.

Actually, he had attempted suicide before he met him.

Vinland Saga - the purpose of Thorfinn's life for a long time is revenge.

And when Askeladd finally dies, but not by Thorfinn's hand, Thorfinn is really shocked and then becomes apathetic and indifferent.

Please no ecchi, hentai, smut, GL.

Hikaru no Go -- Sai basically lives for playing Go. And he's not even alive XD
Luck Stealer -- kind of. I feel like if his daughter died he would lose his sense of purpose.

mu2020: I've seen Gunslinger Girl anime a veeery long time ago, I think it's time to watch it again, thanks smile

Thouarttammy: the students keep him alive more... technically, I think smile But I'm not sure, I've only seen a few episodes of the anime.

The main character is not hesitant to suicide, though people try to stop him. It's not that he wants to die, but just escape from his fate. Though we don't know why.

Kuroshitsuji Ciel’s drive is revenge on those that murdered his parents and thus makes the pact with the demon, Sebastian. To gain his help, Ciel offers his soul - so once the revenge is made, he will be destroyed ...and Ciel is very comfortable about this.

I also thought of Hybrid Child. It is a shouen-ai about android dolls that grow depending on how much they are loved.

The creator of the dolls makes them with the purpose of bringing his dead lover back. It is sort of unintentional, but he grows an obsession over it. Before his lover sacrafices himself, he mentions that it would be a burden to live without him and that the one who dies is lucky because it is just over for them. He has to live suffering, sort of deal.

Mirai Nikki--the girl, Yuno would not be able to survive without the guy Yuki who is a real douchebag and a crybaby. Yuno on the other hand is awesome because well she is insane, strong and smart. She is insane though and she loves Yuki more than anything else.If he is dead, she might as well die or she will literally sacrifice her life for him. So i guess it should fit, though be prepared there is a whole lot of BS in this manga. Lot of twists though but doesn't make much sense.
