HI there, I'm looking for something that has a character leaning on a another for comfort. One of those scenes where the emotions go beyond words and they just need to hug it out. (or more)
There's a scene in Hana no Namae where after becoming upset at a party Kei comes home and clings to Chouko, kissing hard before even saying a word. And there's a scene, if I recall, in Kare Kano where they sleep together basically out of comfort (he's upset and one thing leads to another, afterwards he feels remorseful about using her in such a way but she's fine with).
Basically I'm looking for something where one character is upset and in need of comfort and uses another person to get that comfort. I'd like it if the person being used was aware of what the other needed and gave it willingly (hug, kiss, sex, whatever) and avoid the misunderstandings that can arise.
Genre doesn't really matter, though I prefer josei or shoujo. Shounen-ai/Yaoi is fine too. I don't normally reallu shojo-ai/yuri but feel free to suggest them too. Oh no tragedy... at least nothing where one of the main characters dies, tragedy with side character death is all right

I was going to suggest Oishii Kankei but I see you're already reading it.
Ummm, I can't think of much else. Comfort from hugs is pretty common so nothing really stands out, but I was just reading Boku kara Kimi ga Kienai which has some of that in it...
Might not be your thing, but try it out at least. (Some of the comments are really scathing, but it's got what you asked for so hey. + I don't think it's THAT bad.)

Spoiler (highlight to view)
between the main character and the sensei, he comforts her when she is upset about his brother.

Nana maybe? All of the characters have some sort of problem and each have their own person who lends them strength (in one way or another) when they're troubled.
Oh and Sand Chronicles perhaps?

I really want to recommend Ai-ren, because this is essentially what it's about. However, it fails the no tragedy requirement hard.
The scanlator gives a very nice and clear warning of when to stop reading if you want a happy ending though, if that helps. You can pretend that it turns out well.

Thanks everyone, let's see here.
Nana I've watched the anime but I just haven't gotten around to reading the manga as of yet (though I think I might have it on my complete list regardless o.O),
Sand Chronicals might have been on my to read list, the title sounds familiar so I'll certainly take a look
Umi no Misaki is entirely new to me so I'll be sure to check it out
Ai-ren - well at least their upfront about his illness and you can kinda prepare for the worst. I watched one slice-of-life anime which was adorable and sweet right up the point where they sucker punch you with her heart condition and sudden death.
Kimi wa Pet I have read
More is always better so keep them coming ^_^

Kirai! And maybe one of Miura-sensei's others? I can't precisely recall the circumstances, but the series is Anata wo Shinjiteru - Samishii Kodomotachi.
