So, it was a complete waste of time. We already know what Aizen is capable of. I was hoping that Urahara had trained Ichigo's friends at least a little bit, but they don't seem to know anything about this. And, not even a single update on Ichigo's progression. It was the same sentence and pictures repeated.

I realize that I perfectly summarized the chapter and took care of all of the complaints, but please feel free to support my opinion below. biggrin

Totaly pointless, pure waste of time. I dont particularily mind that the normal ppl from Ichigo's entourage are getting showed, but it could be a whole lot more interesting. Adding Aizen (the OP God) is dumn. Especially after omiting all those people for so long.

Still, im a tad bit curious as to what the next Ichigo power up will be like

Well, that was an utter waste of time... How long do we have to wait for Ryuken to come in and stall Aizen and Ichimaru?

As if this series wasn't bad enough already, this chapter comes out.

Fun stuff.

With the creative genius Kubo's been demonstrating recently, it'll be like Getsuga Tenshou, but bigger.

Wow, what have you guys been smoking. This is actually the only decent REAL BLEACH chapter that we've seen in a year. You guys focus too much on the fighting, while I appreciate the character interactions more.

I liked this chapter. I'm so glad they didn't show Ichigo training.

The chapter is interesting it shows more character interaction and it was a cool chap, and it looks liek Gin is in the next chapter. Cant Wait!!

Has anyone notices that Kubo has been focussing a lot on Mizurio's character? He was mentioned quite a few times recently, I remember Keigo saying something about him being a loner until he met Ichigo and co. Now he's shown to be quite reliable in a hostile situation, raiding a store for supplies and attempting to attack Aizen. I wonder if Kubo is trying to reference an anime filler episode which takes place just before Rukia is sent to the human world (I can't remember the actual episode number) and Ichigo and co are just about to start high school (or something like that) where Mizurio's character is explored in quite detail.

Anyway I'm half and half on this chapter. Not much happened that was relevant but I agree with Dr. Love that it's good to see some interaction between characters who clearly would never be in a shounen battle situation.

It's fine to have an opinion, but yours doesn't make much sense at all. This is quite obviously a shounen action arc. No one is looking for completely out-of-place character interaction that doesn't make a shred of difference (not to mention can hardly even be called character interaction).

To put it in another way, Aizen is a moving skyscraper. Right now, you're reading about a bunch of ants talking to each other insignificantly while that skyscraper is about to just own the crap out of them... it's toying with them... and he is talking crap while doing it! In a shounen battle arc, this is insignificant enough to be considered a filler. You could have edited out the first 19 (18 if you take away the mangastream page) pages and only shown the last one, because that's all it was good for!

The only meaningful thing in that chapter was Gin returning to Aizen. That's it! Then, we get to see a bunch of ants try to run away from a moving skyscraper while spouting crap out of their mouths. If you call this character interaction in the first place I think you need to have your head examined, or switch up your standards a little. Character interaction is meaningful development of characters through interaction with each other. There's no development here. There's just a bunch of ants trying to run away from a monster. This is filler.

The last few (well actually several) several chapters when Aizen was just cleaning everyone's clock and then establishing himself as that overpowered was some kind of character interaction, because it at least developed part of Aizen's character: his abilities (not to mention it showed fight scenes, which people always like, but that's beside the point). This is a completely meaningless chapter. If you honestly think it was worth something, fine. I don't, and I just wanted there to be no shred of doubt that there is reason to agree with me. >_>;

I don't see how people didin't like the chapter. Sure nothing "special" happened but its better this way than rushing the story.

At this point when you're near the end of an arc (Or in this case the end of the Arrancar Saga), you have to have every chapter advance the plot. Not advancing the plot when it's this close to the climax is basically having useless filler, as xshadow said. This whole interaction with the normal characters would've been fine had it not taken up the entire chapter. The interaction should have been around half a chapter, or 5-6 pages, cause then that would leave the rest of the pages to actually advance the plot.

It's like if you're watching a TV show and it's getting near the climax where you find out who the killer is, but then the writers decide to throw in some episodes with the remaining characters doing nothing but talk about the murders. Yeah, it has good interaction and brings in some character development, but when it's so close to the big reveal it seems so out of place to derail the story and switch it to something else that late in the story. I like the whole suspense/thriller thing Kubo did, but it was a waste of a chapter.

By the way, didn't Kubo say that this whole thing was gonna end around June anyway?

Yes, he did, loose.

Also, xshadow, you're assuming that I'm actually interested in the action scenes. We all know that Tite really sucks at writing action scenes. I have completely no desire to look forward to any of them. Just look at all the so-called heavyweights that gott beaten down (due to plothaxx) so easily... So yeah, to me, the lightheartedness is a welcome change of pace.

Unlike you, I'm not anticipating what's coming next, since I know it'll be full of plotholes once again. That's why I just accept the manga as it is and try to enjoy the characters doing stuff. This chapter featured that. Hence, I enjoyed it. I follow Bleach because I like the characters, not the plot, hence why we see it differently and why our priorities are the opposite.

I know I'm in the minority with this.

I agree that Tite needs to end this arc though. It's been long overdue. Peace. o.o/

Actually, I'm not terribly eager to see what happens next, I just wish he'd end it (nor am I huge fan of his action sequences). I already think bleach is a joke now. On average, I take about 2 minutes to read each chapter. This one took one minute. No lie. I just skipped most of it because it was such useless filler. That being said, me caring that much or not doesn't mean I can't have an opinion on each thing I read. This one was simply useless.

For his sake I hope he pulls out some crazy ace in the hole because he's gonna need it (talking about the writer).Seeing this just makes me kind annoyed in wondering what the hell is going through his head. The series was already going in a bad direction, now you add this chapter that most people are gonna hate into it? I just hate it when people just outright deliberately almost CHOOSE to fail... at least in my opinion.

He's not some newb writer. He knows what he's doing. He knows this chapter doesn't belong here.

Edit: And on another note, like I mentioned... I don't see what kind of character development happened here? Did something major change? I must be missing it. >_>;
