Hi, I'm wondering if there a manga(s) where the heroine is ugly. I don't mean, she is ugly according to the male lead, but actually "ugly." Something like the show "Ugly Betty."

I'm looking for a romance manga(s). Like guy actually falls for her, despite her appearance. I don't care if she becomes pretty or not later in the series.

Thanks in advance.

Hmm I can't think of any where the female lead is "ugly", but if you're looking for a "despite-appearences" manga you could try the Manly/Handsome Female category.
The majority of the female leads in the category are very tall and masculine, making them generally unnatractive as women (at least at first). That may be close to what you want.

Bara no Tameni - she's homely & chubby. It's older & I know some people don't like the art style, but I really enjoy it. eyes

The heroines in Koukou Debut, Perfect Girl Evolution, & Kimi ni Todoke are in no way ugly...
Like, it's not even close. .__.
You can call them plain, but not ugly lol.
Gakuen Ouji & Switch Girl, they're not ugly either. XD

I second StalightDreams.

Kimi ni Todoke, Koukou Debut, PGE are definitly not this genre. The girl aren't ugly at all. They just have a strange taste in fashion or have special issue so they are outcast, but not because they are ugly.

I have no manga in this genre in mind, sorry bigrazz
Maybe Angel Densetsu (but it's a guy) or Initial D (but it's because of the drawing style bigrazz)

There is no real romance in this, but they are both fat.
It's a oneshot but i found it to be very interesting.

I second Cousin. She changes, I guess.

This one's kinda obvious but would you say 'Hana Yori Dango' falls into this preference?? (that is if you haven't read it already biggrin )
