I would buy it. I read manga online because I'm too impatient for English publishers to acquire licenses and then put out the volumes. They work quite slowly!

It depends on the price. I live in Europe, and here the price for one english manga can go as high as 13!!!
To compare, that's 16,5 dollar.
I still buy manga's, but if they would make the prices more reasonable, I would buy a lot more of them!
Because I like reading an actual manga better than reading it on my laptop.

Well for one I prefer downloading then reading online.
And I would buy it if it was available in my country. No chances for that any time soon. They don't publish manga here. no
EDIT: It of course has to be the series I consider good enough to buy. Wouldn't spend my money on anything.

i would buy it, but i prefer manga being a hidden treasure.
it would be boring if they´d made it like twilight. something "up to date" is boring

I would prefer to download it and read it on my computer because it is more economical (paper, ink, printing companies, distribution, etc all cost the english license-holders money, and the expense is passed on to us) and also it would take up less room in my house. I would not mind paying for manga.

If this was all true and we were paying for downloaded manga, does that mean us scanlation slaves would actually get paidconfused I know a lot of scanlators who are much more skilled and hardworking than a lot of the pro's, judging by some of the manga volumes I've bought.

If everything was up to date, hell yes I'd buy it. This is without thinking too deeply about how difficult it actually is to get permission, license, translate, and reprint everything in where I live.

The price.. well.. if I really like that series... I'd be willing to sacrifice a few things here and there.

I'm with the general consensus that if I like a series enough then I'll buy it though I doubt some series will ever be up to date due to length such as Hajime no Ippo (92 volumes and counting!) or lack of popularity.

Erm, well it would depend on the manga.
I mean, I'm reading like, over 100 series at the moment, and completed over 100 series. Even if they were dirt cheap it'd still be really expensive overall due to the sheer amount of volumes needed to be purchased...(and the space to put them all...where would they go?! D: )

But yes, I would buy the ones I really enjoy and wouldn't mind reading again and again. I mean, I buy manga now how it is, so I guess the only thing that changes is the fact that they're up to date, and perhaps a bit cheaper laugh

I don't really care about the release date, I much rather publishers take their time to make a quality product. Also there isn't much manga I'm following right now that isn't already finished in japan.

I already buy it, but yes, I would have much more incentive if it were more up to date. (For example, after VIZ got One Piece up to 54 volumes, from the original 20-some, I bought 2 new volumes immediately).

The only issue, like everyone else is saying, is money. $10-$12 per volume is above my ability to regularly pay, so I wouldn't be buying a very big variety of manga.

Eh, and also, I suppose I should say this now, I would also only buy it if it was excellent quality. Like, no spelling errors, accurate translations, and no editing of the original artwork or censorship of any kind.
