What is IRL? I've seen it a few times.

I think it means In Real Life...but I might be utterly and completely wrong smile wink grin

If there was a single thread for introductions, I probably would have added a post to it, but starting my own whole thread seemed like overkill. eyes

Should I make an introduction thread? laugh

I don't the need to anymore. Everyone already knows you.

I kinda did. It was more of a "Hi! I'm new and I need help thread." Which got locked xD. Don't try to look for it or I'll kill you! User Posted Image

LOL me too! Mine got locked too!!! Oh oops... that says "Don't try to look for it" I thought it said "Don't try to do it again, or I'll kill you" so I went to see what people did to it. hahaha sorry!

I'm glad to see that you both are still around. Whenever I had to lock an intro thread I always wondered how that new member would take it. Would they get angry and never visit the site again? would they feel so ashamed that they would never dare to post again?
I really worried about that. So I'm really glad to see that it doesn't have that much of a repulsive effect as I expect it to have.

Well, it was sorta my fault. I didn't read the rules first. Then after like 5-10 posts or so I finally thought to read the rules. Meh....rules are made for us to break. User Posted Image

laugh Sorry, after what you said I got too curious not to look for it. It wasn't that bad.

Hmm, you will join the carnage list of hers? smile
She did say she will kill us.

Had I known me threating to kill would provoke people more to look for mine. I wouldn't have said anything. I fail.....User Posted Image

you should go over to the speak or die thread and kill anyone who doesn't want to speak. You would be doing them a great favor,

I don't like just posting 'welcome' or something in other peoples intros either, I'll usually type a couple lines if i find something interesting to say.

Yes, just saying a bland welcome... looks incomplete.

Nah, didn't feel any need to introduce myself. D:

I've never posted in the welcome forum. For myself or in reply to anyone else. I find it kind of useless.

Only useful thing that I've found about it was to know what types of people were coming up to post, if they weren't scared away. You have to admit that the regular posters aren't exactly...tame...

But some of them have become regular posters, so that's good.

No Intro thread here, either. I guess I didn't know what to say and wasn't sure if I was going to stay, and a little shy, too.

Not sure when or where people started using IRL, but its pretty common in online games and what not since there are times when what your saying can be either online or irl. Like if i was to say on a game or something that someone else on the game is my friend IRL, so people know your talking about someone you know face to face rather then just online. But yeah its because its used quite offten that people shortened it, different areas online have there own shorthand, if you ever played a fast past First Person Shooter that is multiplayer online, you often dont have much time to type out what you are saying so short hand becomes quite usefull. such as saying u instead of you.

I dont know what u mean that its hard to type irl. much faster to type something with no spaces then it is with 3.

Some just say hi.

Boring, but it works.
