what is the best martial arts manga u have ever read? I want something with actual martial arts and it needs a focus on training. ( no Naruto/Bleach stuff thats not martial arts.

examples:

Strongest Disciple Kenichi
The Breaker
Holyland
Hajime no Ippo

"Shigurui" is interesting and fairly intense, as is "Vagabond". As far as pure martial arts (made up or not) is concerned, nothing out-battles "Sakigake! Otokojuku" and "Fist of the North Star". If you want something a bit more modern, "Rurouni Kenshin" was fairly awesome, and "Gamaran" is shaping up to be pretty good, as is "Karate Shokoushi Kohinata Minoru". Oh, and I can't forget the sheer epicness of "Veritas".

No, boxing's a sport, like fencing or kendo. But that's hardly the point. I love Martial Arts series.

There's Player Kill and Karate Shoukoushi Kohinata Minoru. I like those two quite a bit. And if you like The Breaker you should probably check out Veritas

Shamo, Teppuu, Tough, Holyland, Karate Shoukoushi Kohinata Minoru, All-rounder Meguru, Worst (which is streetfighting actually), Veritas, Ultra Red

i would say that shamo and change guy are rather entertaining and they do contain the protagonist training. Other then that I think veritas, and some of the newer baki series are good.

If you want to be specific, Strongest Disciple Kenichi and The Breaker are not really Martial Arts either... it's just pseudo martial arts.

If you want to read something like that, then read Veritas as well.

Anyways...

Thats fun and pulls me in: The Breaker.
Thats realistic and well explained, Holyland for street fighting and Kenji for historical and techniques accuracy.
