Same for me too, could you also implement this function to series as well? Even with filtering, there are some series that i would not be interested but still they show up.

I got even better solution, add one option to manga, where you can choose to add it to "Reading" or "Complete", add one more option - Add to "Black List".

Easy--just make a custom list for yourself called "Blacklist." I've had one for a long time, and I find it very useful: I just set it as an unfinished type list, so the blue circles show up next to the names, so I can easily avoid clicking on those series ever again.
I don't recommend adding entire genres to your blacklist though; that's a bit too much.

Well, the problem is there are extremely vast numbers of mangas and placing every one I don't like to that list won't prevent them from appearing at Releases panel. I would prefer to click "Hide manga" once.

Just filter the damn genres you don't like. What's so hard about that?
A few may come up now and then when the person who puts in the release does not categorize it in its proper genre...but they go away within a day or so.
Even then, you can just hide that certain group's releases - which is pretty much a one "button".

You completely miss the point. Your proposal is similar to stop washing hands at all because you don't like particular soap's smell.
Almost every scanlating group got mangas I like and don't like. And there's a lot of mangas of particular genres I like and don't like. The whole point of this post is to propose more comfortable interface.

Then you completely missed the part where several members have already said about genre filtering. l2read?
The interface is comfortable as it is, you're just being lazy.

Scyfon. You're embarrassing yourself. Yes, you can filter genres. No, you can't filter individual series.

The guy you told completely missed the point was asking for a way to hide individual series from releasing.

I'd also either like a "hide manga" button, or a way to make items on certain lists not appear on the releases page. Hiding entire groups or genres isn't always appropriate, since you may like a few releases but find others disgusting or disturbing. Like when a hentai group releases a safe for work series...

When you hide genres, you hide the series that are classified under that genre, does it not??
Certain genres usually come hand in hand with others (eg. harem + romance), that just how they work.

Also, the "My Lists" page essentially does what the suggestion is asking for - not showing series which the user does not want/like; your own custom list of things you want to see.

In addition, adding series to your lists adds a marker next to the series on the Releases page, so there really should be any laborious searching through the "vast" amount of releases every day.

Genre filtering + color coding helps with that as well. If you don't like a certain genre that usually comes with a genre you like, then color code that genre so you know which ones to avoid.

I'm not trying to be an ass. I'm just saying these existing methods already work for me. There aren't any series that pop up in my Releases page that I do not/would not like...aside from those random few which haven't been classified yet of course :\
And no, they're not hard or "uncomfortable" to use.

Yet I don't want to see "The Second Rape", just the name, on my releases page. It is a horrible name. I don't want to remove the group Desudesu from groups I don't want to see, and I don't want to remove all hentai releases. So... there it is. Existing. Because there is hentai I like, and there are releases from desudesu that I like, and those are really the only shotgun method to remove it from the page.

On the other hand, as long as some series which you don' like keep getting scanlated, you will need that hide button. (considering that series are passed through your filter. I got a lot of those).
Certainly, "hide group" could be helpfull, but i don' use it at all. I mean why use it? Groups can scanlate any genre they want. They don' need to follow a particular genre. By hiding that group, u r eliminating the series that you might be interested. Instead, just hide, block, blacklist (whatever you call it) the series and they will not appear again. Might as well put a new icon to those series that you blacklisted like the "reading list icon" in case you used search function. Or in advanced search section you might add an option to exclude blacklisted ones. That would be more efficient. Well, there is one fact, that is really troubling about MU. Despite the growth rate of MU, It lacks updates. Comparing MU with AniDB, there are many differences. I see MU as a manga version of AniDB but MU is left behind. Though no matter what i say here, there will be no changes, that i know. I might add as well that there is no problem with MU but a large room for improvement.

Please, elaborate on the "large room for improvement" statement. What would you like to see, exactly?

(This is an actual question and I'm not trying to belittle you. I'm simply curious. There have been many improvements to MU, especially the last year, so it's not really fair to say there will be no changes. Your input could help make the site a better place.)

Oh c'mon! It's not like its gonna be there forever xD
It'll "disappear" by the next day, pushed down by the new releases.

@laxarus
Note that MU currently has...only one person working on code (IIRC?) and he's busy with with his own life. So that's why there hasn't been any major changes for a while. We were told there was gonna be a site design change years ago, and yet it's still the same ('cept now it's wider).
I guess change will come slowly unless someone applies for a position in coding?

Hi,
Concerning the group filtering, there seems to be a glitch as when I hide a group from my release list, its joint projects still show up in my list. Can you please fix it?

Also, have you considered adding a genre at least to be mandatory for release posts? A lot of the hentai goes through the filter because the groups never add a genre to their releases(the titles alone are distasteful enough for me not to want to see them). And while I can hide the groups individually, it's still a bit of a pain.

We will never mandate that all series pages must have a genre (although they should)
