Hello, i'm looking for games with strong romance-driven plot, even with weak romance, as long as it's present, even if it's hinted, hell, i'm a sucker for romances and proud of it
Examples of what i've played in my years of gaming and what i'm kinda looking for:
Final Fantasy VII -- Well, not romance-driven, but well, there is a tragic romance in there.
Final Fantasy VIII-- Kinda r-driven, and i love it.
Final Fantasy IX -- Well, it's not THAT explicit, but explicit enough
Final Fantasy X -- Obvious enough?
Ar Tonelico 1-2 -- Fits perfectly, man, it's a dating sim with RPG battles.
Persona 3-4 -- It's kinda in the league of Ar Tonelico, dating sim elements
DotHack 1st and G.U. -- Not r-driven, but it's hinted strong enough
Xenogears -- Well, it fufills the conditions.
Kingom Hearts [conglomerate] -- Hinted but it's enough.
Mana Khemia -- Same as AT
Radiata Stories -- Hinted
Sakura Wars -- Dating sim
Odin Sphere -- Awesome. (Ayako Kawasumi it's the perfect voice for valkyrie characters, just like Profile: Silmeria)
Star Ocean 3 : Hinted
Agarest War -- Main selling point(?)
others...
As an additional filter, please only [jap-born] games, i just can not stand the [american-way], example: Alpha Protocol, Leisure Suit Larry - Magna Laude ( Yes, i know it's intended as a comical game, but those who know the game know what i mean with I DO NOT WANT!!!)
Any suggestions as appreciated, and very likely i'll have played them since i didn't list all that i have played.
Thanks.

If you don't mind horror games, then maybe Fatal Frame 2 and 3 for the PS2? Not exactly romance driven, but definitely somewhat romantic, if not horrifying and painfully tragic. The romance is also more of a backstory in both games. I suppose the third one could count though...

Metal Gear Solid series:
MGS1 -- Hinted
MGS2 -- Obvious
MGS3 -- Obviously the best one!
MGS4 -- Obvious but not towards/between the main character
Most of 'Tales of' series

I played MGS1 only, but isn't the romance in MGS a James-Bond-like? You know, like Snake falls-in-like with a different woman in every game, and the women most likely will end up dying or leaving him at the end? I kinda remember something like that from MGS1. It's an awesome game but lacking in the romance-branch. Perfectly and absolutely understandable, it's an spy game, you can't have your spy having dates and coffe while he is on a battlefield. So i didn't go beyond the first one.
But if you say there is some r-branch in the 2 and 3 i'll try to get or rent them.
About Tales, you're absolutely right, i've played
Destiny, Destiny II (aka Eternia), Symphonia, Abyss and that's it. Fkin Namco won't bring the others for PS3 in english but i'm studying Japanese on my own. I won't stand fkin publishers take away my romance-jrpgs just cause they aint macho-enough for american market.
Tahnks for suggestion. Others?

I personally suggest Dragon Quest VIII. It's a great game, and definitely has a romance, and a happy ending if you're into those, lol.
Otherwise, most RPGs would most likely have some sort of romance involved.
PS2:
Shadow Hearts: Convenant
Grandia III
Suikoden series
Tales series (ie: Tales of Abyss)
Onimusha (Kinda survival horror/action adventure, but hey... you fight to save a princess... what's more romantic than that... minus the creepy monsters and zombie samurais, lol.)
Dark Cloud 2 (Great game, don't recall much of it... but I think there might have been a bit of a romance between the 2 lead characters.)
PS3:
Valkyria Chronicles (Didn't personally play it, but watched my friend play it. It seems pretty cool. And if it's anything like the anime, then I assume there is to be romance in it.)
That's bout all I can think of, off the top of my head.

Hmmm Dragon Quest VIII. I tried it once, but to be really honest, the battle system bored me, but well, since you point it has romance, that overweights the battle system in my scale.
- Grandia III, same, it bored me after a while a few years ago, but i'll give it another try,
- Suikoden . never tried it. I'll do.
- Abyss: Played already, would've liked if a little more romance development with Luke and Tear but oh well, it had enough to keep me interested.
- Dark Cloud 2: Honest, never heard of it before, i'll look for it.
- Valk Chronicles, i have it in my library, still in its plastic cover. It's in my now skinny stock of unplayed romance-rpgs, i'm looking for more before i run out and have to start replaying.
Thanks for suggestions. Anyone else?

Shadow Hearts + Shadow Hearts Covenant: If you play shadow hearts first and get the canon ending and then go for Shadow Hearts Covenant it makes for a great story
Growlanser Generations: Comes w/ 2 strategy rpgs w/ dating sim elements
Agarest War: strategy rpg w/ dating sim elements

Arc the Lad I .- Never played it. Hmmmm it might be a little hard to find right now but i'll try.
Grandia II .- I sure will give it a try
*P3 and P4 .- Played them and Loved them
Vanguard Bandits - I'll try to find it.
*Disgaea II .- Played it, sure pretty nice story
Thousand Arms - After reading the wiki of this game i'll sure give it a try.
*Chrono Cross .- Played. Really a good game and yea a little bit of romance in there. But i always wondered if Serge wanted Kid or his current girlfriend at the end. lol. Also played Trigger and yea for a long time i was also one of those who thought it was the best game of all times.

Growlanser Gen: I played the "Heritage of War" only, but since there is a girl on the cover i didn't try this 'cause i thought you controled a female char and i kinda prefer controling a male char But if you control a male in this one i'll give it a try
Agarest War: Currently playing
Thanks for suggestions. Any others?

^Personally I didn't like Heritage of War much. I'd stick to Growlanser Generations. You get two games and both of them are better. Also you play as a guy. I'm pretty sure you play a guy in Heritage of War too but I never stuck around long enough to get to the real main character. I think you have to play through a few other characters stories or something.

@Whatever
ok, thanks for poiting out the manliness of main char. I'll try them.
I had heard something about Lunar games but never tried them. If you say there is romance inside i'll be sure to check them.
In other hand i had never heard of that Kartia game before o_o *goes to wikipedia*
Thank you very much for suggestions. Any others?
