Yeah I like to just turn on my ipod grab a manga and curl up on the couch. But I am easily distracted (reason why I listen to my ipod) and it has to be a really calm song and I listen to it on low so its only backround noise.

I just have somthing playing on the computer whenever I'm on it. As for curling up with a book, probably classical/light pop music.

Classical. Franz Schubert in particular...

usually i listen to Jay Chou song, a chinese pop star most of u guys don't know him anyway
but lately i addicted to Angela Aki song,i believe if u play ff 12 and wacth blood+ must know her awesome voice and most of the time i just listen to whatever the chinese MTV throw at me

when i saw the title, i thought 'anime'.

anyways, no i dun listen to music. it makes me lose concentration when working on them.

I always put on music when reading manga or working on things.
Allot of ppl get distracted when music is playing, for me it's the other way around. If it's quiet then I get distracted .
But no hardcore music!, distracts me even more, to loud

Yes. I listen to music (nothing too loud though) when reading manga and doing other things. It helps me to concentrate and keeps me motivated to finish what im doing. It also helps to keep me awake (i listen to haru hare yukai, hitori no yoru, tomorrow, aozora no namida to name a few anime songs lol)

well i listen to mainly jpop, jrock, anime bgm and video game soundtracks when i read manga

I listen to music for everything I do (that isn't exclusive to music; for example, I don't listen to my ow music when playing video games or watching televisions). Manga is no exception--and for Manga and Books, my process is the same: I start reading the book, listening to whatever happens to be playing. After a while, the tone of the story will work its way into me, and I'll change the music to fit the tone.

For example, when I read Ichi the Killer, I listened exclusively to NIN's "Pretty Hate Machine," Breaking Benjamin's "Saturate," and Deadsy's "Commencement."

When I read The Golden Compass, I listened to Venetian Snares's "Rossz Csillag Alatt Szueletett" and "My Downfall (Original Soundtrack)", Modest Mouse's "The Moon and Antarctica," and Sigur Rós's "Takk."

And when I last read a Douglass Adams book, I kept Modest Mouse's "Good News for People who Love Bad News" and "We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank," and Daft Punk's "Discovery."

Every time I find myself reading the Wheel of Time novels, it's Avenged Sevenfold's "Waking the Fallen," and "City of Evil" (St7T is too fast; the new album is too...whatever) interspersed with slower, more quiet pieces, like the soundtrack from "Majesty: The Fantasy Kingdom Sim" and various other slower acts.

sometimes I turn some music on (mostly are anime music though), but mostly I don't.

Jpop and Jrock are nice and all but I listen to music because I like the lyrics of the song.... =.= its sort of weird listening to a foreign language to me.

I don't need anything else occupying my mind when I'm reading manga. I like it quiet.

Music and manga go so well together for me. I've got a whole system of what bands are associated with what types of manga (like black label society for 666 Satan and Fairy Tail). Granted if I read for to long I run out of songs for a particular band, and listen to something else.
