the problem is they train for like 10 chapters and use it in like 2 chapters, kind of counterproductive.

I think I'd rather that than 10 chapters of training and 10 chapters of using it like a freaking Dragonball move *coughspiritbombandssjcough*

Well, in the anime things were dragged out. But the manga was a lot more concise; Goku using the Spirit Bomb against Freeza took like two pages.

I'm pretty sure that there was a chapter or two dedicated to spirit bombing Buu.

I once posted some ideas how Naruto could be improved in my opinion:
bringing a great clash in the war, killing 95% of all minor characters - letting alive some previously rather unimportant ones. Kill, for example, Sakura, Kakashi, Sai, Yamato, Tsunade and many more., and let alive guys like C, Omoi or Hinata. Also, Madara and Kabuto should die, leaving only Sasuke.

It would be a massive turning point. Neither Sasuke nor Naruto would still have a goal to follow. Konoha would be gone. They'ld probably strife the world looking for a new purpose, ending anywhere.

Then somebody said "Hey, that sounds just like you would want to turn Naruto into a Seinen."
That was the moment when I stopped caring for Shounen (including Naruto) and started almost exlusively reading Seinen...

Well, even I still look at the new chapters every couple of weeks. Mainly I only complain about what's happening, the poor arts and sometimes mediocre staging, as well as all the weaknesses Shounen has. But in the end there's still a slight curiosity about the characters and how Kishimoto wants to end all of this. Naruto doesn't touch or thrill me anymore though (and I'm an extremely touched and thrilled reader for stories I like).

Well, the thing with Naruto is that you can actually envision an ending within your lifetime.
But for stories like One Piece, you'd have to hope you aren't an old dude, because it would be unlikely to read it to its end.

Naruto is one of those stories that will have an ending, but you wouldn't want it to end.
Naruto actually has a TRUE fleshy plot with dynamic characters with different opinions on how to obtain what they want. And there is actually a psychological response you get from Naruto. As for One Piece, you just get childish crap.

Naruto is a true masterpiece, and deserves to have more sells than all the rest.

I actually did stop reading because the main plot point ended a long time ago. Naruto is well off and respected and people don't treat him badly - end of story -

Yes!

I was trying to figure out what i used to like about this manga earlier that isn't here anymore and that's it! I tried to sum it up to myself as saying that i didn't like that it was all exposition about a super plot and not about friendships, family and student-teacher relationships anymore but you hit the nail on the head.

Naruto has became a great ninja and was acknowledged, now he's just a ridiculous ninja up against bad guys with riddiculous powers. The manga never needed to go that far. It needed to to get naruto to achieve that, then focus on sasuke confronting the truth/naruto going after sasuke and reaffirming their friendship, while sakura realized that she has worth aside from chasing after some guy or waiting for one to get back and growing stronger in her own niche. Then it should have ended with them reunited as friends who'd each grown, and eventually as jonin with their own kids to teach who they could help overcome similar problems as theirs.

I keep reading because I hope naruto will go back to being character driven!

Lol hey everyone!!! We should all stop reading stuff like Berserk or Vagabond because they're too long!

Chuck out your Toy Story and Wall-E dvds while you're at it because Pixar movies are marketed towards younger audiences!

You disappoint me, Azula.
Have you been mixing frozen toads in your ginseng tea again?
Wait till Ozai hears about this.

I started when it in it's early years and my brothers and I were so pumped about the episodes each time they came out. I kept re-watching/re-reading the chunin exam arc over and over, lol. Good times in middle school.

I stopped reading a while ago because it was getting boring but since I was so invested at first I read summaries now and then to see where it's going. Then I stopped doing that regularly when I figured out Itachi wasn't evil. Knew it. /irrational-fangirl-argument-made-canon

* and lol, I wouldn't call Naruto a masterpiece. It has plot-holes left and right...

back in 2002 (I think?) I was in the supermarket and saw a shounen jump (first volume) and peeked through it. there I discovered naruto and manga in general. One of the first manga's I've read so I just kinda feel obligated to finish.

Naruto is only good in marathons, I stop reading for a few years then come back to it and catch up. It'll have a few bad chapters or even volumes, but there easy to identify and skim through for me. But there are always hidden gem chapters amongst the crap, and in a marathon that will make it worth while.
