Personally, I love Shoujo mangas. Same goes for Josei.
But there are some things I find really annoying about them. Like ... the ultra naive heroine who knows zilch about sex. Hasn't everyone gone through sex education at some point?
And how the main character is always so "plain and ordinary looking" when in real fact she's really pretty?
It's rare that you get a Shoujo manga where the main girl is actually very ordinary looking, or doesn't go through some kind of beauty transformation.
Is there anything you find annoying about Shoujo mangas?

Personally, i hate shoujo mangas why?
1 They have this ugly girl that meets this extreamly hunky guy and on some weird freakin reason he ends upp with her.
2. If shes not ugly shes super hot but with a hot temper and still meets this super hunky guy.
3. If she's normal lookin she still meets this hunky guy and get's togther.
4. as you said if she's ugly, she will transform like a butterfly and fap her wings to the next generation.
5. Girls always get this weird harem of guys on almost any shoujo manga, where 2 or more guys try to get her.
IS THERE ANY SHOUJO MANGA WHERE THE HERIOINE GETS THE UGLIEST GUY ON THE PLANET?.
My tip to all these mangakais out there, start reading some Shounen Or seinen
There might be some grammatik problems, but i speak from the heart so

I know what you mean - not only do I end up feeling sorry for the other guy, but really? When does that ever happen in real life? In real fact, there's about 3 girls for 1 guy, and in some countries, 4 or 5 girls for 1 guy!

What I hate about shoujo? its the sparkles,rose and stuff that appears behind them.
I only like them when used in comedy.

2cents here..
1) Unrealistic male lead..with some kind of dark past..
2) It gets boring to wait them hoock up.. Couple years? Srsly? For a healthy(!)+popular guy 16-18years old and he waits his princess(Or he needs to build her from a scratch)?.Are they saint or something? When they are super hot/smart/strong with a swarm of a girls around..Also rules like he is for us to "admire".. Non should aproach him!! Why?
And after they do = just a kiss in a week?  And holding hands.. WTF are they rly human beings? How is it possible.. its a mystery..or hormones aint working in their worlds.. 
p.s.
Well u kno.. There arent ugly/plain girls out there.. There are just girls.. erm that havnt found their true nature.. Also beauty transforms with each year.. :3
add
couple hot guys hunts for a "plain" female lead.. Other hot girls without boyfriends just waiting in the corner?

1. Harems, love triangles: In any series. I hate them. Sometimes I will read a manga despite them though. But I still hate them. It's like guys and girls can't just be friends. Which brings me to another point btw..
2. Guys and girls can't just be friends. Very few series allow pure friendship between guys and girls. If they are childhood friends forget it.
3. Dense, oblivious to love heroines: Frustrating to watch. But I'm fine w/ it if they are an outcast and a socially retarded loner.
4. Overly aggressive and abusive male leads who don't get what's coming to them. A kick in the balls.
I realize these can apply to shounen as well but reversed but that doesn't change anything. I don't like them here or there.

The love stories  And those alone are enough to keep me from reading any of the shoujo / josei romance manga out there.
- Love triangles (or any kind of polygon involving romance).
- The fact that there is not even one guy-and-girl best friend duo who simply remain friends without ever being romantically involved with each other.
- The thoroughly unnecessary focus on beauty and physical perfection, with almost no attention being paid to the characters' personalities, principles and attitudes.
- Last but not least; SINCE WHEN DID NOT HAVING A BOYFRIEND / GIRLFRIEND MEAN THAT YOU LIFE IS NO LONGER WORTH LIVING?!
And...that brings me to the end of my rant

I have to agree with you there. I've never had a boyfriend ; have I ever thought of suicide or anything? Nope!
I don't understand these heroines who just think that because they've been dumped they no longer have a life.
Wouldn't most guys call that Obsessive? O_o
Or maybe just plain ridiculous!
(I think this also applies to girls, but seeing as I am one, I see things from the opposite direction)

TV and internet are apparently not part of today's teen girl.
The sad thing is, that shoujo has become synonymous with HS romance with an idiot chick.
It's a damn shame. We're flooded with this crap.
And those are the shoujo I hate most.
Those hapless idiots running about, trying to find their knight in armor of abuse.
What I hate about them?
Everything.
-The idiot characters - with no personality.
Is there really nothing else to life than a bf/gf in high schoo?...
-The setting - HS where only kids roam.
-The plot - there is none.
And on it goes.

Haven't you ever had Sex Education? Most Primary Schools in the UK go through with that.
I'm in the middle of reading, and the second whatever-her-name's boyfriend mentions sex, BAM!
She blushes, stutters and goes on about how she never thought about having to go through with "that".
Seriously ... it annoys me. Do these girls not watch films? Use the Internet?
I guess you're right about that.

Let me think why I hate shoujo nowadays, probably because of:
* The dam annoying that cries all the time, has the "shoujo look"- I mean big eyes, " overly cute", I really hate the cute shoujo look when I see if the manga is interresting the first thing I see is the cover of an annoying girl, it really pisses my off.
* The defenceless attitude, as if it's cute to defenceless and only rely on a guy, that you are unable to live if there isn't a guy there to protect you, like a small animal, hamster for example. That it is girlish to be so weak, this is the mayor thing that pisses me off, just the thought of that behavior enrages me, 'cause it is like saying that girls really are so weak creatures that they absolutely must be taken care of or they will die.
* They way that except love and friendship there isn't anything else in in life, and if the guy or her friends have other important things she will begin to cry, as if there isn't anything more important in life than her!!!
I have more complaints, but for now this is enough
