I imagine you've all seen the way ninjas run in Naruto. They have their arms to their sides and trailing behind them while they run forward like they're charging.
Well, have you ever replicated this method of running? If so, how often do you do it when you run?
Personally, I run like a ninja every chance I get. Whether it's charging into the girl's locker room at school (I run too fast for the ladies to see who I am, but my ninja eyes pick up everything) or racing my friends (they're usually a bit faster than me, but then I use my kunai ^_~) I'm ninja running like crazy.
Please, share your ninja running stories.

I tried it once. For some reason, I think you run faster that way...

I saw a few people who ran that way, and I walked faster than them.
I did try it though, it gave be weird looks and I kept hitting people by accident.

that's just weird...i've got a friend who runs like that around the university, he gets weird looks from others
Ninja run is only for the looks.
Ordinary running style fits human body
a lot better.

I strongly believe that I would die laughing if I saw an individual running around like Naruto ninjas. I wouldn't be able to control myself because it just looks so funny. I remember laughing my arse off at the way Kakashi was running in the Naruto vs. Sauske episodes. Man oh man did he look like a big freaking bird.

Theoretically, a true ninja running style consists of minimizing wind resistance and short quick strides. So, in practice, without going through some serious training, this running style will tire you out much faster than others and go a lot slower because of the lack of necessary leg strength and speed. So truly, running like a ninja would be awesome, but only if done properly, so I'll stick to my regular running style.

It also lowers center of gravity and leaning forwards will put your body on the tip of falling off. But if you gain enough acceleration you'll be able to keep yourself from falling over.
Basically, It makes you run faster but with less balance. While your running your arms do more than they look like their doing.
-----------------
At least thats the theory anyways

hmmm....I must say, the ninja run is quite useful...other than looking like one.
I seem to run like a ninja alot. Mainly due to the fact that my body is growing really fast and i'm not entirely used to my larger shoulder size. So alot of the time, i end up colliding into corners of walls, bookcases, chairs....anything really, when i'm just walking normally.
Getting all streamlined with the arms hanging around the back ninja style helps me avoid hitting all those inanimate objects and hurting myself less.
AND LOOKS WIN!
BTW: i'm 6 foot tall and i'm SOO not used to this height

Are you by any means my sister?
I mean, I do run, but I do have a sister. o.o

What?
Oh, I remember once in high school, we were playing truth or dare and one of the dares was to run like that along the corridor (we didn't know Naruto, just a coincidence).
