As long as the plot's good, it could have nothing but talking turds for all I care. laugh

Sometimes. They aren't my specialty by a long shot, but I've been known to read (and enjoy) such series. Worst, for example, is great fun....but I read it in installments, with long gaps between.

It's better when there's a mix of characters, and I don't mean just males & females, but a mix in ages (NOT just 12 year olds, please!), in social classes, in economic status, etc., etc. It helps make for a more interesting series when there's people with different backgrounds and perspectives on life interacting with one another.

It's not like you can't have a good series when there's primarily only one gender in it (Claymore, for example), and I certainly don't like it when the female characters are just there to be useless window dressing (they shouldn't be there at all if that's going to be the case), but generally speaking, in series where none of the characters are useless, I tend to like mangas with diverse casts better than those without them.

lol, my thoughts exactly!

I prefer to read shounen/seinen for the action so romance feels kinda gay to me. I also appreciate good comedy and interesting characters. Though I don't actively look for manga with all-male casts I surprisingly end up liking them more.

Mostly because girls get shitty characterizations in a lot of shounen. They're usually stuck as some crappy romance lead or for fanservice. You know manga world, girls can do much more than fall in love with a guy or get hand down ancient relics that all the bad guys want to kidnap/rape her for!

Unfortunately it seems that's all they think chicks are good for roll eyes

I don't know about seinen, but I would definitely read josei manga with hot, cute guys, even if there isn't a single girl.

Worst is awesome
Crows is awesome

So yea. Also, i think its great not having to watch underage girls in miniskirts with huge tits flashing their panties every freaking page.

It depends. Some people can make it work, and some fail.

As long as it has a plot, but I always find myself thinking, why can't there be actual badass girls with skills and balanced flaws and whatnot...

Naruto hasn't had any important female battles except konan (and she was great)...
KHR has mostly guys who can fight. Lal, Ipin and...Chrome (barely counts as able to fight).

I'd prefer it to be balanced.

If the girls are all "OMG, I have big boobs and panty flashies and I have a teensy crush on you but I need to get rescued all the tiiiiiime!" then I would prefer her not to be there.

having only dudes that actually do stuff, instead of filling spots by putting useless female characters(not saying that they are always useless), wins every time in my notebook

if the manga content is good enough and kept my interest .. yes
it just show how good the manga is without relying in cheap cute & moe artifices
not that i mind that but that's another category of manga dead

someone mentioned Gamaran and i second that there is only two femals
one is Gama's big sister (or is she his aunt?) and the other is Nayoshi's mother
and the characters aren't moral fags if you step on their path they cut you down!!

If for some reason there are no girls in the manga. The manga has to be about gay guys.
