i agree, after all that i was so surprised by how quickly he chose to give his first time to someone else At first i thought it was very out of character for him - and i still kinda do - but i guess he just felt used and tossed aside after all his effort, and let's not forget shimazu was the girl he had an unrequited love for 3 years - far longer than anything he felt for ruka - so i guess when he saw her hurting and that since he knew she really did love him in her own way - it's not too unrealistic to think that he let his emotions and libido get the better of him. The guy is composed, but it's not always easy to stop and take stock of things in such situations. Still, it's a crying shame that he made such a stupid mistake and if anything it just goes to show that he didn't really trust ruka afterall. I'd say 40% of the blame lies with Tsucchi - for CONSTANTLY making dick moves, 25% of the blame lies with Ruka for taking her own fucking time in confessing to him or even replying to his texts, showing him some affection (etc.) and Gramps is 35% culpable in that he should have had the balls to talk to Ruka or Tsucchi about stuff before ending things with her so fast, instead of clinging to his past love for support and advice - let alone comfort sex

well i kinda agree but at the same time but don't you think that it was just as much ruka's fault since she knew he was in love with her and she admitted to her friend that she was in love with him but says i am to embarassed to tell him even after all the time a person will not wait forever as time moves on feelings fade it is best to live for the moment who knows what will happen tomorrow live for today one can only blame themselves when they procrastinate

yeah, i definitely feel that she left it too late - what with him having waited so long. However, as i said I still think Komai is at fault for jumping to conclusions and not even reading her texts - if he had, i doubt he'd have taken the steps he did so unreservedly. This whole situation makes me a little and a little

imo the way things are going...he will still "date" shimazu and ruka will start to date the other dude...which jus kills me. after reading ch33, why doesnt he jus "breakup" wit shimazu, its not like theres any REAL feelings for each other, its more like "friends wit benefit" type of thing. she even said its for confronting now. i understand how he is, i think shimazu, the way she is, should understand his feelings by lookin at him and end it for him. it would make it easier for him. he had chances to 'end it' with her, even in ch33...by sayin he cant forget about ruka and he doesnt want to hurt her(shimazu) by keep doin this.

the question i have is if you like someone they tell you they need to get over their feelings for someone then that person comes back and you see them kissing would you not take it the wrong way and on top of that she was being too ignorant to let him know the misunderstanding while komai is at fault for not confronting her she was even more retarded cause with a few words she could have solved the problem or make it more confusing plus the kiss was in the school he goes to and a lot of people know about him and ruka so how does she figure word would not get back to him

i agree wit u...did u read the new chapters...i havent yet so idk as of chapters 34-35, like i said b4 he should breakup the "fake" relationship and talk to ruka instead of thinkin too much. same for ruka...they both need to stop actin like nothing happened and talk, but then again if they do i guess the manga would end rite

i think it will drag out a little more and end with 8 or 9 volumes any more than that would be ridiculous

i feel like its already ddraggin now...its either they both date their former lovers for awhile, and thn finally get together, or she will try to get him bak and he will realize he is a dumbass lol and get together....i feel it should end around in volume 7-8, but who knows

I've read through Vol 7 Ch 36 "Place" (thank you hobo-1) and Grandpa's "saccharin birthday" which I've comprehended as "artificially sweet" and yet potentially harmful for extended periods.
From the beginning, theirs has been a rebound relationship up till the birthday episode where neither partner showed any real deep emotional attachment to one another other than mutual respect and friendship. I feel that our favorite drinking buddy and "consolation prize" is in a quandary now that new evidence has come to light and has not yet determined her "fight or flight" response. Unfortunately, most of the cast seem predominantly selfish instead of selfless with the exception of Grandpa. IMO the "Monster's Ball" incident and months leading afterward was his way of helping Komai to get over her relationship, and two friends helping each other through an emotionally draining time. I love the similarities to the beginnings of love triangle relationships -- a tearful hug -- and yet I feel that until the next tearful hug, we will not see a happy grandpa. But will Yuu ever be happy again?

I'm new at this manga, and just started a few hours ago. Looking all through, this is a good story. It's not exaggerating nor disgracing the structure of a story; on the other hand, I found how it's easily changed the characters' disposition. It was began with Komai falling in love and chase after Ruka and suddenly, I saw it's turning upside down. Not that it was a bad move, but I think the author isn't being fair. Well, he mistook everything and got all messed up while the girl finally admits he's the one she dears most; I think this is just so formulaic: the girl is being sacrificed for the sake of empathizing the man. I'm not being feminist, but the story has just got so oddly childish. I wonder what Ruka would say if she knew Komai has been lovey-dovey upside down on anyplace-they-could-find with Shimazu. I mean, they were practically a virgin when the series started (I laughed the most when Ruka rejected Tsuchiya just when he could finally had a time-to-dive for the first time I've seen him around). Oh yeah, funny thing is, when Tsuchiya should have been the real don in the story, I've never seen him around the chicks whatsoever while the most tight-guarded virgin Komai gets all the bedtime shots.

sigh ive been reading this manga off and on since it started and just recently finished c.38 and i think granpa is slowly realizing that he messed up but he feels trapped in a way where he knows that if he breaks it off shimazu theres a chance that ruka wont accept him back hes scared and rightly so.
i think there will be one maybe 2 more volumes where he will break it off with shimazu and fiddle around and over analyze how many poos he takes a day as well as ruka who will get harrassed about having big boobs and i think it will end how it started at a hot springs

nah, he hasn't yet to realize anything, since there's no one who knows the truth about Ruka and Tsuchiya including Shimazu. I can accept the reason why Shimaze didn't tell him, but I can't clearly see why no one else did. I mean, they were so heated up matching these two and while they knew the truth, they just kept silent, acting like they don't know why Komai had to leave for Shimazu. The story is really dragging on right now, and it's stupid.

Yeah i hate those story when all is about a so big useless misunderstanding between the 2 lead while everyone know about it and say nothing. But i think all is going well in volume 7 and will be sorted out in volume 8, or i hope...

The only thing irritating is, like in many mangas/films/dramas/..., the guy can go out and have sex with another girl but the girl can't or she will be clearly out as a main lead... especially when dealling about first time.

Regarding Hetakoi, it really is dragging, but it's a slice of life type, so let it be. I want some more bed shows Btw I prefer Shimazu over Ruka. If I were in this manga, I would snatch her from Koma instantly.She is just so my type. Girls around me either boring or mentally retarded.
