What makes you love a manga? For me it's awsome fight scenes, over confidencial fighting skills, a loveable main character, and funny side characters.

These, and characters that are actually likable and that you can somewhat relate to.

bishies, moe moments, good art, not much clichée, refreshing story, nice and fast fights, adorable characters, cute or cool outfits, funny scenes / yonkoma at the end of the volume.
it´s great if all the things are togther but it isn´t necessary. i think fma meets the conditions the most

Captivating Storyline
Though-Provoking Plot
Interesting Characters (anything that impresses, can be common or uncommon doesn't mather)
Not too much comedy! i like something a bit more sobber but i don't reject comedy completely
Nice art style (everything eye-candy~ish)
A manga that preferable it doesn't feature shounen themes (its not like i hate it, its just that i don't really like it, very few exceptions)

attracting art
a decent story line
epic moments

and i just only discovered this but i like it when chars get a 'morph' kinda thing

like the angry faces from one piece
the rond ball chars in Air gear
or just the randomness in Needless XD

they make a manga funny without messing with the plot to much XD

Good characters, Nice art, funny moments and an interesting storyline.

Any of those four (sometimes all together) are what makes me love a manga.

If it's funny. Seriously- the art and plot can be horribly mundane (not saying that I don't like good plots and awesome visuals), but if it gets me laughing, I will read it to the very last chapter laugh

But, I'll still read and love non-comedies if they have good fighting scenes, strong (mentally) females/males, and the the plot can not be overdone or underdone- bc that just makes things predictable and boring

The plot
yes the plot. sometimes the art but 99% of the time it's the plot
and how the most unrealistic things can happen (imagination) ^_^

The Art is usually what gets me to read a manga, although if it's atrocious I'll put it down (or press the back button) like it was poisonous. But what really gets me to love a manga is the plot-line and the characters. Sometimes when a manga is really amazing, I instantly fall in love the characters that I sometimes feel really lame cuz I would want them to be real BADLY. Also, the real-ness of the situation and if you can relate to the story and characters as well. I know that manga is not real ( cry ) but I (and most people) want to relate to it and I think that's what makes a manga good. smile

it used to be all the diverse types of stories you could find then after a while you could barely find any like that but it just became a habit to read looking for a good read which is hard to do since most end up irritating me but every once in a while you can find one so i would have to say that it is to search out good reads

I'm a pretty shallow guy when it comes to manga... so my first choice is the art... If the art doesn't look appealing, I'll just ignore it.So yeah, in this sense, I am judging the book by its covers, lol. Then comes the plot->character->everything else.

Art and story the two coincide the only way it doesn't is if the story is really good, then i can over look bad art. and bishies don't hurt. i like angst and i like kind of aloof male characters and a female lead that doesn't spend half a volume in tears over nothing, i like them to have somewhat of a backbone and. i like romance i'll just sit back for hours reading if it's a good plot with lots of romance and comedy. biggrin
