There is.

Not sure how far it'll develop though.

Mid way the main guy gets this Spy/Assassin girl who has been keeping an eye on him to open up and makes her good after that she becomes his girlfriend, and they have a lot of lovey dovey type moments and several to many intimate moments, and it just keeps progressing.

Yea, I personally don't like this match up at all. It seems awfully forced and it came out of nowhere. One minute, she reveals to be a spy, and the next, Fujimaru is apparently in love with her? Nothing leading up to that "confession" had any hint of that being the case. And what happened to his childhood friend Aoi? It was being hinted since the first manga that she was a love interest, and the beginning of this one, she looked to be harboring some deep feelings for him. Then, she just disappeared, and hasn't shown up in the manga since the first chapters. If the mangaka wanted to make Hibiki the love interest, he should have developed it more, and made it clear that Aoi was just a friend, instead of just making her disappear from the story.

I don't know, it kind of looks like the mangaka just made her a love interest in order to make the loss of her character tragic. And it definitely looks like a possibility that will happen.

I'd hardly call that being in love with Fujimaru's dad. She had a crush on him because she admired his skills in martial arts (him being her sensei and all). Unfortunately, it's been a while since I read the first one, so I can't point out specifics. But there were times where both showed interest in the other. Fujimaru showed more interest obviously, since Aoi had a crush on his dad and all, but it was there. The love interest was hinted at. And in the beginning of this manga, Aoi was quick to overreact to Minami criticizing Fujimaru for not taking on the mission. It's not like Mianami said anything too bad, but Aoi was on the verge of tears defending him. This shows that she cares greatly for him. I know that's not necessarily love, but it's something, and when combined with the first series, it leads one to believe she is a love interest. However, the mangaka just chooses to completely remove her from the series like she isn't a big character in the series.

And Hibiki is fine as a character, but they just dropped the whole love thing out of nowhere. She reveals she's a spy. She decides to go with Fujimaru to the plant's server room. And then, bam, Fujimaru says he's in love with her, and wants to spend the rest of his life with her. Really? I need more than that. At least the violent childhood friend has some background with the main character, and the development is there. There was no development with Hibiki. Like I said in my previous post, I think the mangaka just made her a love interest to make losing her as a character tragic.

about that dropping out of nowhere relationship.......people tend to fall in love deeply in dangerous situations.....there was a show on discovery...i remember from a few yrs back where a guy asked random girls to call him back aftr giving his cell no. on 2 separate location.....first was a street and the other was a rope bridge hanging over a valley.....girls from the 2nd location called back more....so he author isnt wrong in depicting such a thing as it is very possible

I think that's a cheap explanation. I'm not trying to be confrontational or anything, that's just how I feel. And I know that theory, too. However, something I'm sure you would find is that when it's all over, those romances formed in "dangerous" scenarios don't have lasting power.

It's just when I read a work of literature (manga is a form of literature, though a very basic form), I want development. I can't just be told something and accept it if there's no explanation, or development.
Spoiler (highlight to view)
If the mangaka would have shown that Fujimaru like her, even a bit, when she was first introduced, or if he slowly developed their relationship, I would have been fine with it. And by slowly developed, I mean that server room situation would have just been the planting of the seed, and anything that happens after that would be them getting closer. In order for me to have bought into it, they couldn't have become a couple yet. At this point, Fujimaru would just be forming a love for her. I just think it's a forced relationship right now. Either she's going to die, and Fujimaru is going to get sad, and everything like that, or it's gonna turn out Hibiki is still a spy and this is only an act. Either way, it will cause a tragic event that will force emotion out of the reader (the true goal of their relationship, I believe). I just can't buy into it yet. A lot will have to happen before I think this is a serious romance, though I may never accept how it was "developed".

well there's a chapter were the archer friend(can't remember the name) calls Fujimaru and tells him that Haruka said that Hibiki seemed to be acting, and Fujimaru goes like "she's a sharp girl" so there may be a chance that both Fujimaru and Hibiki pretend to be in love
or it may be just me biggrin

No, it's not just you. I'm thinking that its a possibility she is just faking it right now. And something else that caught my attention. When the two other Hibikis show up at the airport. The one on the other line says that Zeta is already on the way to Karuizawa, which just so happens to be around the same time Fujimaru and Hibiki are heading to Karuizawa. Judging by the names of the other two Hibiki (Alpha and Beta), Zeta sounds like the name of another Hibiki, which could be the Hibiki that's with Fujimaru, or another Hibiki. So, something is going down. Either the other Hibikis are on a mission to eliminate the original Hibiki, or Hibiki is meeting up with Alpha and Beta to carry out another mission (something having to do with Pandora's Box).
