"Rich Johnston reports this morning that manga creator Akira Toriyama is going to write some new chapters of Dragon Ball (also known as Dragon Ball Z in the United States). Dragon Ball originally ran from 1984 to 1995 in Japan, and Viz Media published it in the U.S.

Johnston states the obvious: “Something that will make this event even more spectacular is a simultaneous fully translated worldwide launch of the new book.”

The Viz folks were tweeting last week about a big announcement to come this week, and they have already done a simultaneous release with Rumiko Takahashi’s Rin-ne, so this indeed may be their big news. Stay tuned!"

Maybe it'll finally solidly invalidate all the BS that happened in GT?

Let a classic stay a classic.

This would be like Shakespeare deciding all of a sudden he'd make Romeo & Juliet, part II. (Not that Toriyama's anything like Shakespeare or DB like R&J, but you get what I mean.)

I wouldn't go that far, but since dragon ball he hasn't put out anything good. At least nothing good in my opinion... Actually I can't even recall anything else writen by him.

Im really excited about this, but I know it most probably will be a dissapointment. Towards the end of the series his style changed, and not in a way I liked.
Since then he wrote a bunch of short stories that really sucked and had no personality to them. Still, Il most def check it out.

If he doesn't write about any other sayiajin the series it will be really good, Toriyama have a good mind to make shounen, but I would really appreciate if he writes Dragon Ball more on seinen lines. But there are a few thing that made me miss the old dragon ball: Innocent Martial Arts Tournament, Adventure, Good Plot, Fantasy, No super long training, introduction of new characters that enrich the plot, etc.

I still have some old mangas from dragon ball, I rly liked it. smile Wish good new chaps.
