well I'm looking for an historical manga that plays not in asia but in europe. I don't want mangas that follow actual historical events (a lot) but just in this time.
I would like to read about people living in this time ^^..like their every-day-live...preferably no shoujo romance with cliche-like lead...but if it's really good than pls suggest it.
Well..but not only their every-day-live but also the darker side of this time please XD..
the only manga that comes to my mind is kuroshitsuji... or maby oliver twist? but thats not a manga ^^
as long as its European 17./18. century and doesn't have the following genres I'm fine with whatever you suggest
things I don't like are hentai, yuri, a lot of ecchi (as a girl it's not one of my favourites) and harem
I'm looking forward to your replies ^^
if you want something more specific pls just ask

Versailles no Bara
Chevalier
Btw Kuroshitsuji is set in the 19th century (1801-1900), not in the 17th-18th. If you meant 18th-19th century try this topic: http://www.mangaupdates.com/showtopic.php?tid=16491
Not mentioned there:
Les misérables (I only know its existence because the anime).
Gosick is set later, in the 1924, but it's quite good (at least the Gosick (novel) I'm reading) and since it's set in a small fictional European country which reminds of a previous era I think it can sort of fit.

These might not take place exactly in the 17th / 18th centuries, but you might want to try;
A*D , Teikoku Kyoudai , Vartrag Tale (All three are set in fantasy worlds, but the features of your preferred time period (clothing, weapons, etc.) are duly present)
Eru Arukon - Taka (Late 16th century)
Crimson Cross
Count Cain + GodChild and Mozart wa Komoriuta wo Utawanai (Early 19th century)
Fullmetal Alchemist , Yoru no Kakaku , Gorgeous Carat (Unsure of the time period, but appears to be set in the 16th century or so)
Shirley (The setting is Victorian era England)
Poe no Ichizoku
Thomas no Shinzou (This one might be a bit too modern...)

Haha, when I saw this post, actually, I was going to suggest Kuroshitsuji (it's like my favorite manga ever). But I guess not.
You could try Pandora Hearts. It's a fantasy, but it takes place in Europe and the main character is a noble.
Oh! You could also try Savage Garden. I really liked this one, as the tone is dark but not completely hopeless, and the characters are interesting.
Will o' Wisp also works.Try looking at the European Ambient and Victorian Era categories for others.
