Really?? Whether you want to consider yourself human or not is irrelevant because you are.
Humanity is not simply defined as being selfish or apathetic, it encompasses a lot of things. Humanity is truly characterized by the ability to change and to be irrationally good, to display compassion and 'goodness' in the darkest and cruelest of moments It is also impossible for you not to possess some selfishness and it is this selfishness that will lead you to be apathetic towards some things. Even in kind and 'good' acts there is some selfishness and apathy and indifference.

I think the point is that the majority will probably reject your central assumption. What it means to be "human," even though I know you're using a different context for the creation of this thread, is generally not assumed to consist of qualities we consider "evil."

Hobbes and his cronies aside, there are plenty out there who assume that we're naturally good. Take, for example, the fact that a normal human being cannot kill someone unless in a situation so stressful that the normative impulses against it can be overridden. That's why soldiers are taught to not see their enemy as human. It makes the experience bearable.

There are plenty of horrible things in the world, but there's good out there too. It's a balance. I don't think you should necessarily color your view of reality with only one lens. You end up missing a lot that way.

Not as stupid as you think.
The question is can you see yourself as a human (not biologicaly). The point is on the moral and mental state of a human.
I understand it because i can't see myself as a human too. I am antisocial, hate the people around me because they are treacherous liars. Don't want myself associate with them anymore.
A life of a human means nothing to me, only 3 persons fate am i interested, the rest is nothing. Can't think, can't live like like other humans do. Working, eating, sleeping, talking, loving, creating a family, this is not me.
Until my 10 birthday i died several times and in several meanings. And i changed, i was born and raised as a human, but the outcome was that i am lesser and higher then a human in some aspects.

yes i am biologically human and my body is human i know what "humanity is" well it can change due to the perspective of society but humanity is to be human right? to be a "good person" all about living your life with morals and crap.


i know what being human is, but sometimes i don't know myself, i feel sympathy to those who have misfortune but hell, if they got nothing to do to me then i'll just move on.

i feel jeolous,hate,love,fear,apathetic,disqust,pride and all those emotions

i pride my superior intelect, i'm both selfish and selfless at times depending on the situation

but sometimes there's need for the dark sides to come out,i despise trash who are two-faced liers and those who cling to pathetic ideals.

for instance pacificsim, for crying out loud! no one gives a shit about what you say if you can't back it up! sweet words mean nothing! they are just idiots who won't survive and cn't face reality. the world is not good or bad it is a balance of both jsut how bad things and good things happen to you.

i hate it when ppl are so dam stupid they just wanna cling to their "good" bullcrap, today, if you were to get into a fight and some dumb
idiot who is far weaker than you tries to help your enemy and you knock his ass out because he is helping your enemy, who do you think is gonna get scorned at? you or the weaker guy?
in reality the weak guy sided with the enemy so he has interrupted your fight so you have no choice knock him out otherwise it may be you who is taken out.

some stupid society ppl can't man up to the rigors and dark side of life it sickens me sometimes.
sure i prefer it to be peaceful but i will bear my fangs if someone dares to threaten me.

i will kill if i must,lie if i must, i will do anything if i must. i have morals but it's only to a certain extent

i will do anything i want to do as long as it is with-in the law and i don't hurt anyone, and i will stand up for a friend and will have no mercy for a dire enemy, as for normal enemies i'd disable them but not kill them.

i'm sure that makes me human enough but not quite.

It doesn't change, let's take duality is right and there is something you can call "human mind" and that it's what makes humans human. How would you define that? Is it fair just to say it's only the "good" qualities and not the "bad" qualities? I don't think so. To be fair you would have to name all the qualities you can find, and then make a definition that include them all, that would be certainly some big ass and hella ambiguous definition but it would still be more accurate than reducing it only to the "good" qualities. Being a bad person doesn't make you less human, it just makes you be a bad person. Wanting to be a good person doesn't make you more human, believing "being human" is a negative quality and rejecting your human condition because of that doesn't change anything at all, you are still human.

Dasnik, maybe it would help if you separate the issues you want to discuss because your language isn't very clear, and trying to combine a cartesian mind/body split with some kind of pseudo religious assumption that humans are born into this world evil isn't working for you. The very fact that you (who are human, no matter what you say) can recognize that there were immoral acts depicted in the video that spawned this discussion should speak as loudly as the fact that those immoral acts exist. And the fact that most societies define those acts as immoral should say a lot as well.

The cartesian split framework this discussion is assuming isn't really working for me. I tend to think of people as embodied.

man being human is very easy,u just have to embrace wat you are for good and for bad and just carry on the best way it can bein every situation-nothing really hard if ya ask me
