I was wondering which Shoujo / Josei Manga's were made into live action Movies, i don't mean Korean or Japanese dramas, just the typical 2-3 hour long movie.

something like : Boku No Hatsukoi wo kimi ni sasagu
it was made into an AMAZING movie, even if it did stray (a LOT) from the manga.

So, any other shoujo/josei manga adapted into a movie? or any movies based on a manga?

Just wondering

kthxbye smile

Hachimitsu to Clover has both drama and film (as well as anime) adaptations.

Lovely Complex as well.

^These 3 movies happen to be the only mangas-made-movies movies I've seen, too. xD

Antique Bakery and Kagen no Tsuki have movie adaptations.

Although it isn't shoujo, you might also like The Girl Who Leapt Through Time.

Watashitachi no Shiawase na Jikan

^although this isn't strictly shoujo/josei, this might be acceptable.

Kimi ni Shika Kikoenai...The original short story is kinda neutral (not shounen or shoujo, nor seinen or josei), but I think the movie gave it a josei feel. It has two manga adaptations, one shoujo, one shounen. XD

Japanese:

Koizora, although the situation is reversed. It was a book, then a movie, then a manga.

Anmitsu Hime was made into a couple of tv movies (drama "specials" - one in 2008 and one in 2009). Inoue Mao (Tsukushi in Hana Yori Dango) played the title role. SARS subbed them a while back, and I thought they were pretty cute.

Tada, Kimi wo Aishiteru

Taiyou no Uta

I also recommend the Lovely Complex movie. Soooo cute. And the guy who played Otani was perfect! I wish it had been a drama, not just a movie.

Korean:

Do-Re-Mi-Fa-Sol-La-Si-Do

Hello Schoolgirl is apparently based on a manhwa, though I can't seem to find it here. It's a sweet romance.

My Sassy Girl

Nodame Cantabile

I also second Odette's choice on The Girl Who Leapt Through Time - even if it's not targeted at the female demographic. The anime was pretty amazing and now there's a live action version too.
