Hello all, hope you can help me out with a request here.

I can't quite put the description of what I want in just a few words, so I'll try my best. ;~;
I would like to read a manga or anime (preferably manga) where a character experiences an awakening of sorts involving either:

- A character waking up after a long period of time. Example: Noblesse.

- A character having another conscious awakening within themselves. Example: D.Gray-man. This can also include a character having a reincarnated conscious person awaken in them, again like D. Gray-man. With this, I would prefer a bad side appearing, but it doesn't matter.

- The awakening of a dormant power in the character. Example: Tenkuu Seiryuu. Emphasis on a dormant power here, I don't want the power given to them**. They can be born with it or inherit it.
**The power can be given to them, but the character can't know until it, of course, awakens.


I don't want a story with a character having a self-realization, an awakening, to their personality or actions, where they then try to correct it. That will be left for another time. XD

I would like it if the manga/anime doesn't have yaoi/yuri, shonen-ai/shoujo-ai (not even subtext, sorry), hentai, loli, shota, or smut. Gore is alright.

Well maybe u wont like cause of the blood type manga but this manga have some features of your description:

Deadman Wonderland

- A character being reincarnated/re-born without having a host.

I'm not entirely sure what you mean but in Inuyasha Kagome is the reincarnation of a powerful priestess. She becomes more and more powerful throughout the series (as does Inuyasha, of course.) I'm not sure if it could be called 'Awakening', but its a great series. It's a 5 star manga series and an ok anime series.

I'm not sure if this is a dormant power awakening you're looking for, but Ghost Hunt?

Threads of Time but I don't know if that really fits..can't say more because that would be a major spoiler ^^

Angel Sanctuary has at least three characters who are reincarnated or have other personalities in them. I'm not finished reading so there may be more. There is some shounen-ai subtext between two antagonist characters, though.
