The February issue of Kadokawa Shoten's Newtype magazine is announcing on Saturday that the previously revealed Berserk project will begin with a theatrical film that will open in 2011. According to Newtype, the 2011 film will be the first part of a project that will adapt the entire story from Kentarou Miura's manga.

hmm
there nothing wrong with Hayashi Nobutoshi voice...its awesome

i wonder how they are going to go about it
are they going to skip the real intro to the manga? and just start with Guts being born? and if they handle that like they should that alone would make 1 more movie before he even joins Grifith

the begining is very important
if we didnt know from the start that Grifith had done something so bad[ we didnt know what ] but we felt Guts hatred...we knew guts had become a man obsessed with revenge
if they cut that from the story both in itself is pretty dull
nothing happens...or actually them being happy and succesfull happens
that makes what we know is coming so much more
as a reader we allways had that in the back of our heads...when...how...

i just know they are going to fuck it up again lol
they rush it to the both arc and it will just feel empty

fans will hate it
and the big leap lol is over
YOU MUST INCLUDE THE THE FIRST 3 VOLUMES GODDAMNIT

[i think im making even less sence than usual lol...im so tired...not been sleeping much the last 4days]

could be like evangelion ... just restart everything and keep it to the story ... But I'm guess its going to be like evangelion with a few movies being 2 hours long biggrin

so...
the first 10 minutes that we got to see[youtube it]

the not so important characters all looked like stick figures in a bizarre 3d world or lego as someone wrote on youtube...not ok

and
why did they skip the real intro to the manga
and they even skipped Guts birth
one of them SHOULD have been the begining

and the concentration of violence and gore also made think of the Gintama movie that spent a little too much time on those things

berserk is violent and dark...sure
but dragging out scenes with characters entrails dropping out
is not really needed
it was 1page in the manga
it took well over a minute in the movie

The CGI is simply awful.

Ugh...looks more like a video game cinematic than anime. Hopefully all the future Berserk anime isn't like this...

Man, that first film was just awesome.

They really did a good job on it, aside from the animation shifting so much.

Looks like shit goes down next time, too.

some things i have to say about the movie

1.its a terrible way to get new berserk fans
all we see is drawn out scenes of violence
and Grifiths boohooing about being born poor

2.the cgi is not THAT bad ALL the time

3.have to do with my nr1 point but
it feels like a mishmash of a couple of chapters taken at random
and you dont get a feel for the world, the characters nor will you care about them
no gay wrestling,no bondings,no love ASO

4.Grifith looks like after the transformation right at the start...not really a good idea i think...he is a very goodlooking man sure...after he was reborn he becomes untouchable...almost on the brink of ugly
now he starts out looking...almost ugly

I cant say i dissliked it
but it felt cheap
and I rather reread the manga than watch it again
