Ummm... store brought chicken eggs are infertile, meaning they are empty and will never hatch. Only mail order specialty incubation eggs work.

Well, I don't know how accurate the fear is, but I do know that the poultry farmers lobbied against ferrets for that reason. It's sad and unfair because Frantic (my Ferret) was one of the smartest and most loyal pets I ever had. no

you could hide it..? Does that work in your house?

I've always thought ferret was a wild animal... I didn't think it could be a pet =s

There are wild ones, and domesticated ones, and they're quite different (from what I understand). All the ones sold as pets come from generations & generations of "farm" breeding, so they've lost a lot of the skills/instincts/whatever that would let them survive in the wild.

ahh.. makes sense... Are the domestic ones smaller in size?

you could hide a ferret as a pet... but if it gets sick or something, you'll be in trouble, and if you get caught with one, theyll kill it for sure.

and i dunno the difference in size, it's like with wild dogs and cats and domesticated dogs and cats, there's different types so i wouldnt really know.

my ferret is NOT small. he is SO unsmall you could call ferretzilla. he also still have most of his instincts and skills (if he spotts asomeone, especially males getting close to me, or to him, he turns into a killing machine, in fact, im the only one he wont bite).

well, that just means you have an especially violent ferret, since theyve been domesticated for over 2000 yrs. unless you picked up a wild one somewhere, which i doubt. even with their domestication, ferrets are still pretty sharp, so maybe you think he still has almost the same instincts as a wild one, but wild ones are probably a lot... wilder.

Most of the ferrets they sell here in NY are pure white and not with the natural coloration of moritana's. I wonder if that has anything to do with it's temper?
