For example, in general, I dislike it when the love interest in a manga wears glasses. Exception: Fairy Tail (Loki). He's probably the the only manga guy that I think looks hot with glasses.
Kind of a dumb example, but you get my drift.

I very much hate series with allpowerfull magic gadgets[armors,swords ASO] and protagonists that use armcannons
Berserk for some reason manages to pull it off witout me being too bored...most of the time

I don't like sci-fi, but Please Save My Earth and Kiseijuu are much beloved.
I don't like mecha, but I enjoyed watching Code Geass very much.
I don't like it when the male lead smokes, but Miman Renai was wonderful.

I've grown a dislike to cliched shoujos with airheaded girls going after & ending up with the most popular guy in school. But Strobe Edge is my exception.

I am not really fond of yaoi/shounen-ai, but a major exception to this rule is the funny Sukisyo.

I hate Yaoi UNLESS the Uke acts extremely feminin (as well as looks)
I read romance manga unless if either protagonist is not pure (not a virgin... don't know why xD)
I don't mind a perverted male lead except if he takes the perversion beyond capabilities  (the exception to this exception is Tarou from MM!, he's EPIC XD)

I usually hate moe comedies but Shinryaku! Ika Musume has me dying of laughter.
I dislike harems and fanservice but I love Mahou Sensei Negima!
I dislike fanservice but I really, really, really want to read Strike Witches.
