my friends know hentai before they know ecchi. the first time they saw an ecchi, they got all hyped up and called it hentai. now that they know, they are really in to ecchi, since 1)it can be read when people are around and 2)most ecchi have comedy

i find porn to be boring after getting hooked with ecchi manga and hentai...

It was the complete inverse for me. I started with porn about 17 years ago (when I was 13), moved to Hentai about 8-10 years ago, and started reading Manga in September.

This topic is foolish. Most boys seem to encounter porn around adolescence, because it's the most obvious source of naked females to masturbate to. Any porn addiction is more likely to stem from this. I suspect the girls who become interested in porn are similar, but I've not talked to too many about the subject.
Hentai is more likely to appeal to kids who have read manga, but ecchi, hentai, and porn are different enough that it's not really sensible any would really lead to any other.
