Most people I've met IRL are okay/neutral about it, or get confused as hell when I bring it up. XD

I'm fine with them. Sometimes they scare me, on how some of the guys look like girls.
It's like "what?! thats a guy?"
I like alice nine
girgamesh
gazette
Bis

I don't care how the band members look, if they just make nice music. But it can irritate me quite a bit if a band uses more energy on outfits than their actual music. none

I agree with Oriolidae, as long as the music is good then alls fine. Though I'll admit that when they have guys looking/dressing like girls it kinda creeps me out dead

I adore them, though I'm disappointed that the bands who tour in North America are generally former VKei bands that have moved farther into general jrock.
Definite favourites are D, -OZ-, lynch. and exist†trace

I used to listen to Visual Kei a lot. Actually saw UnsraW live as well.

But it got a little boring after a while, so I stopped listening.

Been a fan of Vkei for 6 years now.
I still listen to it but not as much as before :c
Favourite band would be The GazettE, Girugamesh, xTRiPx & Vistlip. And I think One ok Rock is Jrock ;o but i'm just going to throw that in there. biggrin

It's okay for me. I'm not crazy for Vkei band but it just happened that my favorite band was Vkei, ie: L'Arc en Ciel, X Japan, Siam Shade.

ALL of my favourite Japanese bands happen to be Visual Kei. Don't know why, I just can't seem to get into non-VK bands' music. Within the VK scene itself, there are a lot of different music genres and styles. For those who are exploring Japanese music, actually many mainstream bands (including VK ones) are pretty generic and average - it's the same anywhere, not just in Japan or the West. I am discovering lesser known bands and have found some good music (still liking a couple of mainstream bands though).

Having said that, I don't care how the band members look if I like their music. I like a lot of Western bands and never care about their looks either. It's now a trend that VK bands tone down their looks and actually look better when they are going major/gaining more mainstream fans.

As to the VK guys who try to look/dress like girls, I think some of them can actually pull it off and look cute. If they've done it right, why not let them. The guitarist Masaki of Scarlett is my current favourite "trap". <<33
