I want a series about or includes animals, I would like it better if it's mostly about dogs.
As you can see my display picture is of my dog and I love her very much.

Most series by TAKAHASHI Yoshihiro (in particular, Ginga - Nagareboshi Gin and its related series, as well as Lassie).

I've read some of his works and I just can't get into them now after reading one of the series with ninja dogs jumping tree to tree.

There's lots to see in the Dogs category.
(I filtered out hentai and yaoi because there are a disconcerting lot of titles about a different kind of animal-loving.)
Try Deep Love - Pao no Monogatari, Uchi no Hide, ShibaO, My Little Lover, Momokan, Kimi no Kokoro Boku no Kokoro, and Helen Esp. They're all cute.

Deep Love - Pao no Monogatari , Eien no With - Read only if you don't mind heart-rending tragedies. These are the only two manga ever that made me cry...
