Sounds interesting, it'll be the next step up from vibrating controls.

I saw this at E 4 all last week. I tried it on and the second I was about to play.....it crashed. I laughed at them.

The guy tried to sell it to me as a new technology that has never been done before. But I guess he forgot that they made one for the Sega Genesis over 15 years ago from a company called Interacta.

Duuh Duh Stupid

It could be fun for games without violence..

But WITH violence? What kind of sane gamer would do that?

Would you also get bruises from that? That's just dangerous..

I'd love to feel the pain, for the next couple of reasons:

1) I'm pretty sure it will only be as painful as being pricked with a pin

2) It makes the game play more real.

3) People won't rush to kill 10 opponents when they are alone due to fear of pain.

4) Also cowards can be told apart instantaneously.

5) The psychological aspect of the game increases exponentionally. Which influences people to play based on their personality. Example: coward versus risk taker

But for example they play a war game or stuff.. And it's AS real as in real life.. Everything..

Then, some who are good in shooting people and stuff, are gonna do it in real life too.. and gun a lot of people.. (aka psychos)

And I think that you can modify the pain.. But the ones who produce it will put a limit on it... Though, it may not help, bcuz some could find a loophole, and make the pain even stronger, which could be lethal..

I'm not trying to bash 'real life' gaming.. But just want to state that there could also be bad consequences...

It would be 'fun'... seen from a gamer perspective... But some terrorist group or something can also use it, as simulation for their soldiers...

I read somewhere a loong time ago that the US army used quake to test hand-to-eye coordination. But what you're saying is true but very miniscule in a way that I think only few people would do it. And those that do are psychos because they are psychos not because they played a realistic game and became a psycho. I mean you use a fork to eat and there are people who killed others with forks but there are sooo few of them. Makes sense?

Yes, but a fork does not stimulate violence...

But, anyway, I'm not trying to bash it.. biggrin I myself would like it too.. but just want to point out the pros and cons..

There is no way those things can be turned into killing machines by terrorists!
people these days thinks terrorists all took a formation at MacGyver school or what? You can't turn anything into anything you want for. There are physical limitations. That thing is probably not able to create an impact strong enough to leave a bruise even less kill anyone. If it does... that means the guys making it are the worst kind of idiots ever... I see a lot of lawsuits coming ahead. But I doubt any company is stupid enough for that.

And I think the concept of more immersed gaming can be interesting. But this isn't really such a big deal. This is just a stupid gadget that will never sell anyway.

Agreed.

I think it's a gimmick. The world isn't ready for complete immersive gameplay, yet. That's something for the future when graphics are not distinguishable from reality.

For now, i'm happy with my controller and tv.

Although, I admit I would try it, there's no way i'd actually buy it.
