Ok, I know there's a genre called "gender bender", but I'd like something a little more specific.

a)
I'd really like a manga where the female is either very manly or pretends to be a man, and has many girls who have crushes/are in love with her. She can't be a lesbian though, though lesbian attention is fine. And she has to enjoy/promote these girls' admiration and love for her.

Chiro Star Project would be an example of this. She becomes a famous male singer and has tons of female fans, and she sucks up all the attention and indulges in it. I think she even kisses a girl or something.

Kaichou Wa Maid-Sama would work, if there was more focus on her relationship with her fans and less focus on her relationship with Usui.

Ouran High School Host Club maybe, but that's pushing it, since they all have lots of fans, and Haruhi doesn't exactly care about her fans.

Also, if there's a male love interest, that's fine. In fact, I would prefer that. It would also be nice if some guys felt threatened by her.

b)
The other thing I'm looking for would be a manga with a male lead who either can become a woman or is often mistaken for a woman. Either way, he can't care. It can't bother him, or make him feel like his manhood is threatened or something. He has to be straight, too.

Fushigi Yuugi is the only really good example of this that I can think of. He can become a woman on command, and he's fine with it. He isn't any less a man because of it.

For this request, I'd also want some kind of romance, but as long as it's made clear that he's straight, then I guess romance isn't necessary.

Thanks.

Edit:
For the second request, I don't want a man who acts like a woman. I want one who looks like a woman, is fine with it, and still acts like a man. I guess you could say I'm looking for a manga with a character who's man enough to pretend to be a woman.

Princess Princess actually might work well for this. The main character gets chosen to dress up as a girl for hid all-boys school (along with two other guys) and both he and one of the other guys really get into it. But they still act like men.

Penguin Revolution would also be an example of this.

Manly woman --

MAX Lovely! -- though I think you read this already...

Shinobi no Onna -- title one-shot "Secretly a Woman" (it's not smut, but there is a nude shower scene...)

Womanly man biggrin --

Kuragehime -- though the anime is farther along scanlations at the moment!!

Nicoichi? -- I haven't read this... but I'm sure the man is straight based on the summary... isn't he gorgeous looking, by the way? XD

For some reason, I can't think of anymore... I'll update if I remember more titles (and if no one mentioned it).

Otomen and Family Complex(the older sisters short) come to mind immediately. Other than that... Momo from Peach Girl is pretty spunky but not very masculine.

...mooo... if i come up with more later i'll edit.

EDIT: Demashita! Powerpuff Girls Z's Buttercup is very tomboyish and has a female following

Uhh... have you read W-Juliet? It actually sort of fits both requests... the female lead is manly, has at least one female admirer... the male lead spends much of the manga dressed and pretending to be a girl, and it doesn't seem to bother him.

Thanks for the suggestions - I'll check them out. But something like Otomen is not what I'm looking for.

Let me specify; I don't want a manga with a male lead who acts like a woman, or likes girly things. I want a manga with a male lead who is often mistaken for a woman or can become a woman, but still acts manly.

Also, in Otomen, he cares too much about what other people think. Like I said earlier, I want him to be 100% fine with it. Hiding the fact that he likes girly stuff is not being 100% fine with it.

@disvi
Ai wo Utau Yori Ore ni Oborero looks good. Thanks.

Shitsurakuen for manly girl, definitely.

On a side note, people seem to call it shoujo ai, but it's not. At most, a couple girls around her love her, but generally speaking, it's still indistinguishable whether it's love or admiration or fanservice or whatnot.
