Zetman or Shi ga Futari o Wakatsu Made, where science plays a big role in the plot, for example in 1. the machines to create players and stuff and 2. Mamoru with his bilndness, but when he wears those special glasses he sees everything in squares and stuff.

Veritas, (Academy were science boosts "Ki" and gathers information about forgotten Martial Arts)
Freezing, (Academy, were women get combat powers through crystals against aliens, sort of a non mecha evangeilion).
Psychic Academy( Academy were scienece boosts psychic powers).
Fuck with the academies , read Deadman Wonderland.
