weirdly enough i only gave dying a thought recently, i think most people are scared of dying but am i also scared? i don't know, i'd like to think that i'm not scared but one can never really know unless faced with it....
then i started thinking why would i be scared of dying (if i was scared), which lead me to ask what was gonna happen when i die, when i got to this thought i actually started feeling excited >.>; and i suddenly had a death wish XD

Read my post again.. bigrazz I don't like that same response of I'm only afraid of how to die.. Oh well, everybody their opinion.. laugh

Quote from Dr. Love
It's like you're all in denial.. biggrin

The ones who said no.. You're all so young..

And believe me.. Death is the least on my minds now.. I have homework to stress over.. laugh But Death is scary, when you stare directly at it.. Then you'll feel the encompassing fear that absorbs you.. bigrazz

And of course there are some people who aren't afraid.. There are always exceptions.. But I'm saying that 8 of the 10 people who said 'no', don't know how it really is to face Death..

I'll believe you, when the doctor says that you'll die tomorrow and you just continue your life with no worries.. biggrin But right now, Death is like a century away from you now.. So you really can't make a judgement about that..

I can also say that I'm not afraid of sharks, since they're not swimming in my room right now.. But when they're right next to you in the water.. That's a completely different feeling..

P.S.: Just generalizing, people..

I believe that it's possible not to be afraid of death. I also think that the reason why people are scared of dying is because of the insecurity of what comes next... I'm not a religious person so I don't really believe in an afterlife. We just stop existing, nothing left of us but the memory amongst the living. And I must say that I don't find it to be an uncomfortable thought. So I would say that I am not afraid of the actual dying part. However I do believe that I would be very frustrated over all the things I never did or could do, unless you die of old age and feel that you are ready. But I do think that this is a very unusual thought, there's prpbably most of the time a sense of insecurity and regret...

im afraid to die of old age, or im more afraid of the old age actually.

well if i died in combat i would be satisfied, as long as i have a fighting chance im not afraid, if i get killed while having the chance to defend myself i wouldn't fear it, cuz then it would have been my own fault.

but if i was lying there i would probably feel fear, even if i dont do now cuz then it would be again a situation witch i have no control and its instinct to wanna live, so then i would prob be afraid.

weird hu smile

Anyways i know theres no next, my brain seize to get oxygen and my mind dies, then its all black and im gone, disappeard..

Hmm, I guess I am. I mean I accept death but I don't think I could accept my own cause then everything's over. So pretty much I'm doing all that I possibly can as to not die, ever. Yea.

I agree with this.. it's not really the thought of death that scares me, because with life comes death. I already know that it's going to happen, just not when or how (though, the how part can be kinda of scary - I seriously don't want to go by drowning). It's having regrets that I'm scared of. Or dying without experiences things like love, never getting the chance to meet people that I would have loved to have met, the could ofs, should ofs and would ofs..

I'm not afraid of death at all. An end to the stress, of sorts (I'm of the atheist bent, and I don't find nonexistence frightening, but rather liberating). What worries me is that I'm going to be on my deathbed flipping out about all the naive dreams I have now that I won't have fulfilled (with the obvious reasons of their being impossible) before death.

I mean, I should set my standards lower if I'm seeking self-fulfillment, but I just don't have it in me to do that.

I find that to be true for me as well

I'm not afraid of dying, but I'm terrified of not being here for my son.

Quote from Gediminas
Now that's a good thought. Don't you think that being hung upside down from the rooftop of a 100-story building might work wonders on people who "aren't afraid of dying"? As you said, attitudes or feelings can be changed. Just a small reflection about all the things you hold dear, all you have, all you still have to achieve and accomplish in your life might be very effective.

Actually I go by the saying
"I'm NOT afraid of falling from a high place.... It's the sudden stop at the end that terrifies me" and then again I wouldn't be afraid of the dying, but of the pain right before I croak and the big mess I would leave laugh

People will always have regrets.. So you'll die with regrets, anyway..

I'd like to die painlessly, but I don't know if that'll happen.

Personally, I don't mind the idea of dying, since it's there and it's not going to ever go away. I'm not the type going for immortality, especially since it's stupid because you're always going to be left alone (See "Bicentennial Man" and you'll know what I mean)

However, I'm not stupid and when actually facing imminent death, I'd be afraid. I'd regret not doing this or that, and I'd wish for more time with my friends and family. But overall, the concept of death isn't something I'm currently stressing over.
