question for female gamers, why there are so many girls disliked fighting games, I've yet met a single serious female player won a fighting games tournament.

If you follow fighting games scene like SSF4, T6, Blazblue, GGXXAC majority of the players are males, or at least whoever won any tournament, and no sorry Super smash bro doesn't count, that game is for kids laugh laugh

but I've meet tons of them in mmorpg eyes

Im a girl and i play mmorpgs.
I have almost never taken the healer type character but i do like longe range characters.
I have never rlly experienced any stereotypical responces, atleast i dont remember having.
I never rlly thought of myself as a girly girl so thats why i like fighting and fighting games.
Tho, i might not be as good as the male players.

I'm I girl and I usually play some badass male character, usually on the wrong side of whatever law there is or anti-hero type. I prefer action games and my preferred weapon is a sword of some description. Mostly people assume I'm a guy, no idea why but I guess that's a sterotype.

Hey, I'm a girl and I can beat plenty of guys at fighting games. I don't care what anyone says, plenty of girls can play video games and not suck. I get really irritated when the guy I'm playing against, mostly my brother, does the same three different compos over and over again just to beat me, it's pathetic. My guy cousins love to get me upset with their stereotypes. Always going on with "You can't beat me" and "This is a game for guys." Is it really so hard to admit defeat every once in awhile to a girl or risk the possible loss to one? If I can get over a loss even with my stubbornness (and I'm really stubborn) then so can some of those ridiculously stubborn guys out there.

I'm opening with saying I'm male and I've played video/computergames since I was 12(13 years gaming and counting). I've encountered quite a few gamers that happened to be female IRL. When I played World of Warcraft I played together with a few women for 6 years or something and have nothing bad to say. The stereotype about them taking healer-roles is wrong. They play what they find to be fun, most of them went with long-range casting types but some went with melee. I myself mostly played tanks and healers. They behaved like normal people and didn't abuse the nerds that where in shock and awe over women gaming. Now I would also like to say that there are those who really did take advantage over the fact that they're female, and as anyone would I didn't really enjoy gaming with them in particular. Some of them had different interests than I myself had but that goes for everyone. I've had my ass kicked on a few occasions by women on League of Legends as well and I can't say I feel bad, they were just better than me. Well that's what I've gotta say about it. Actually my sister kicked my ass in Call of Duty Modern Warfare once, although I didn't like the way she did it, but I lost.

saying female gamers are bad is complete BS and the idiot saying only males were hunters knows nothing about history

I play co-op games with my little sister, I'm close combat and she plays as magic user or long range, nether of us play online because there are to many idiots whose only smack talk is "gay gay girl gay"
I grew up watching my older sisters and mum play Mario and Sonic games, they know all the secrets of the old games
Forgot about Time Crisis I loved watching them play this

the games my sister is playing right now are Saints Row 4, GTA 5 and Bound by Flame
I'm trying to talk her into playing Nier

Girl gamers don't usually reveal a themselves because the majority of male gamers are perverts. Then there's the toxic plalyers that have to bash the other team, even when the other team loses, or constantly taunts the whole game. If I wasn't so antisocial I wouldn't play games '-'

I don't get why anyone would reveal their gender in a game... does it even matter?
females are in no way inferior to male players, why would they? Those games have nothing to do with physical capabilities, the only thing where males would have some kind of advantage (if any).

I wouldn't go so far as to say most male players are perverts though, that is rude, and depends heavily on the game and its fan base. But it's always the bad people that stand out, especially in games...

I like the concept of pre-defined genders in games, because the whole gender topic becomes obsolete. Then it all comes down to skill and character (at least what you show).

Well I'm transgender so some days it bothers me when people assume I am a guy. That hasn't happened in a while though. I didn't say all, just most biggrin But yes it depends on the fanbase.

I love video games as well as traditional games. Always have, a casual gamer since I was 4 years old on my brother's N64 playing Mortal Kombat in my pjs. I still play video games whenever I can, with online games I don't correct people if they assume I'm a dude - though it does throw them for a loop if they hear my voice.

I don't play games but there's no reason to suspect that I'd be bad at it because I am a girl either. It's just hard for me to play with the keys and commands, while watching the screen. Although, goodness knows I like watching people play them. Someone said if I got a boyfriend, that would be awesome because they'd appreciate my interest but I think I'd just be that annoying back seat driver saying "why aren't you doing this or that?" Besides, they'd just get engrossed and forget I'm there.

I hate stereotypes, but its a bit true, few girls are gamers, and lot of them arent so skilled, but there are also exceptional skilled ladies in games. Well, I hope there would be more girls playing as the time passes, at least n00b girls are better than n00b boys lol.

I noticed there are more girls in RPGs and games like Minecraft than FPS/survival games. Have you noticed it too or its just my impression?

I played tons of games in elementary/high school, not so much anymore. My sister owned an old school Gameboy when we were little and I used to pay her a quarter to beat Donkey Kong bosses for me because I sucked. smile I'm good at them now though. Skill just depends on how much practice you have.
