Hey guys, haven't watched any of the new animes out this year. So could you please suggest one for me please? I was looking for one which is mature, not much comedy and focuses on themes etc. Basically what I don't want is a mature anime filled with lots of action scenes and gore and thats it. As in the plot must be decent, not just save the world kinda thing where no one dies and hero is all perfect etc. For example something like Phantom:Requiem of the Phantom, Darker than Black. They don't have to be like the examples above.
The animes suggested have to be from 2010+. No harems, yaoi and all out action animes with no plots, comedies please.

Rainbow - warning, really mature.
Angel Beats! - has a fair amount of comedy, but it's also pretty deep and moving. The summary makes it sound very action-y, but it's not really that much.
Durarara!! - I love the bits of psychology in this one.
Katanagatari - I think it has a fair amount of comedy, though it's mostly straight-faced stuff that doesn't get in the way.

Yes it's a save the world, but it has an interesting plot and is very dark. People definitely die, on both sides, and killing the main villain isn't as easy as all that, as there are inner conflicts the main character must deal with when facing them. And it's not all black and white, where everyone is either good or bad. There are some definite shades of grey.

Guys thanks for the recommendations but umm I said in my post I only want animes from 2010 so code geass,kemonozume were made before 2010..sorry if I was unclear about that...that is because I have watched most of the animes before that or I have looked through it and was not interested. I have already watched code geass both seasons, and watched the first episode of kemonozume and just couldn't bring myself to accept the animation level in it since its pretty old and all...thanks guys!

why blood+, it was a complete let down. this Saya is weak and annoying it doesn't have the same sence of urgency that the original movie had. Blood+ is nothing more than a dragged on, toned down version of Blood: The last Vampire.
Kaiji season 2 is out, I highly recommed it. if you havn't dseen the first season. you should.
