Would someone explain what online radios are all about, and how to go about using them - in detail? And recommend some good ones?
Thanks in advance smile

Online radios? Like Pandora? They are just for listening to music according to your taste.

You type a certain song or band you like and the system analyzes the genre and suggests to you other bands you might like. Or maybe some sites give specific stations like "Jazz" or "Indie." It depends on how you prefer to listen to music. Would you rather search by genre of by a specific band you like?

Online radios are great for exploring new music. I suggest Pandora because I've found myself using it more often. Other ones include Grooveshark and Slacker. 8tracks is an interesting one that I'll probably start using more in the future.

Also, the downside to some of these sites is that they are to heavily weighted towards mainstream music or popular artists. Well, that's what I've been noticing with Pandora. If you want music from artists you don't normal hear about, go to 8tracks.

I don't know about Grooveshark(actually, I don't think they do have an app) but 8tracks has a bunch off apps here: link. As for a toolbar app...apparently, they have an extension if you use the browser Google Chrome, but if you have a Mac, you can use that app that lets you 8tracks with iTunes.
