42 is the answer to the life, the universe, and everything. It's from the book The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams.
There is no purpose to life. If there was one it'd be to beat everyone else.

well everyone else has a different purpose or believe they know what the purpose is. But all people live and think differently so really there is no answer. What might be right for you might be wrong for someone else.

My purpose in life is to never let bad emotions control me, to try everything once, and take crazy risks because you only live once.

[quote=Dr. Love]What do you believe is the purpose of life..?/quote]

The purpose of life is to find the reason. The essence of existentialism.

Science cannot answer this question, because for all its power, science does not begin to address the most fundamental questions such as "Why are we here?", "Where are we going?", and "How long have we got?" (with apologies to Harrison Ford... bigrazz)

In the meanwhile, live, love, be happy, do no harm, and seek to minimize pain in all its forms whenever possible.

And he who dies with the most toys does _not_ win.

How do the masses/the world/society think about the purpose of life..? What do you believe is the purpose of life..? And what is your purpose/goal in life..?

First I answer with a question: they think? Second I have no idea, people of more religious quality will no doubt have something to say and believe according to the beliefs placed upon them since early childhood. People think too much and are too concerned with things like the end of the world, life after death, etc. You can't change what it is it just is.

People in my opinion must find their own individual purpose or raison d'ĂȘtre, reason for being. Different for each and everyone of us. I guess as of yet I don't really have a raison d'ĂȘtre I'm just around cause I've found a few things that interest me.

Indeed. We have been asking the wrong question. We should be asking "What is the question to life's ultimate answer?"

purpose is gained purpose is lost and then you're put in a situation where you can either find purpose look for purpose anew or die but either way each person has an unalienable duty to bow to natural instinct and all other realitys

Biologically: To survive in the competitive environment and reproduce.

Morally? It differs for each person. Myself... Nonexistant for the moment, but don't really see the need to end my life.

Man, I feel like a morbid person. -___-;;;

i Don't really know the purpose of life "yet" =.=.

To reproduce woud be the answer if it was for the whole humanity.
But personally i DON'T KNOW! for myself.

Life is a mistake or just a coincidence. We mean less than nothing.

The purpose of life is to die.

According to Joseph Campbell, it's to "follow your own bliss".

But I like living...
