or balot? its a developed chicken embryo inside the egg...sometimes there are even feathers >_> *shrugs*

Yeah, I used to eat those whenever my family bought them, but ever since I had one with feathers in it, I haven't had one. Kind of freaky to eat, but with plenty of salt not bad.

My mother ate those while pregnant with me. After seeing them, I cannot for the life of me, try them. dead

I thought these were freaky street food, but I actually like the gizzards though.

Natto...yeah, the one you see in manga/anime. My Japanese friend invited me over last night to try out Natto for the first time. And damn, it looked like spit, smelled like coffee with mustard and tasted like beer.

Yeah, my uncle made all the guys eat one...or else he'd tell the rest of our family that we came out of the closet. LOL. Good times. For us, though, it was a duck embryo.

WAW! where did you get this pic?!? eek
Anyways, those food in that pic was hugely popular among the masses here in my country.

The food in the first row, extreme right, we called it "Bitukang Manok" or chicken intestine. Its very yummy by the way. wink

I'll give you the names of the food on the first row:

1.Im not sure what it is called because its new.
2. "Helmet" or chicken head.
3. same as #1.
4. Bituka ng Manok.

And lastly on the bottom row:

1."Bulaklak" (I'm not sure to this name) - its a pork intestine
2. "Adidas" - Chicken feet
3. "Beta Max" - A solidified Pork blood named after the first home video format. Its my all time favorite but I stopped eating that food. dead

Is fried scorpions considered freaky?
I ate it once, doesn't taste that bad, but not good either. But it is definitely less scary compared to the dishes others in this post have suggested. dead

Freakiest Food? Three portions of Pasta with Mushrooms (If i remember correctly) that smelled like
Spoiler (highlight to view)
SEMEN
. As soon as i sniffed it, i started to laugh uncontrollably and my 2 friends began shortly after me. In the end we ate the whole thing while crying in the plates for the overlaughing, meanwhile being looked at by the other customers of this restaurant. ("you'll eat very well, I went there 2 weeks ago" said my best friends father)
Epic, it was so strangely epic i cant describe the feeling laugh

chicken blood is really NICE smile

during the rainy season in Indonesia, bugs called 'laron' (in Indonesian) would swarm near any light sources at night. we would put a basket filled with water under the lamps, and wait. the bugs would be attracted to the surface of the water and meet the end of their lives ._. then we fry them and sprinkle a bit of salt. i've never tried it, but my brother said it was crunchy and tasteless.

my teacher was in a tour in China, and was eating as a group in a restaurant. when a waiter came to a table near hers while pushing the trolley-tray thing covered with a white cloth, she asked the tour guide what it was. he/she said there was a LIVE, bound monkey inside, and the skull would be cut open so that the brain was exposed, and they would pour some alcohol onto it and scoop it sluuuuurp.
O_O that freaked me out, it sounded very brutal!!!

I had that somewhere in china (i think its illegal now) tasted like blood mixed with bland jello w/ soy sauce ( i wasn't allowed alcohol). Not as bad as it would sound but if you can disregard the screaming monkey and blood on the table. dead

It was expensive....

My other list of the weird is:

Turtle Shell Jelly Soup
Baby Pigeon (Fried or boiled when in their shell)
Chicken Embryo (boiled in the egg)
Live Drunken Shrimp (LIVE shrimp soaked in alcohol mix)
Chicken Heads
Chicken Heart
Chicken tongue
Cow Stomach
Chicken Feet
Balut Duck Egg Embryos
Fried Tarantula (http://www.weirdmeat.com/uploaded_images/pic_of_spider-7585 60.JPG)
Snake Soup
Pig Intestines
Pig Liver
Pig Feet
Pig Blood Soup
Pig tongue

This should do for now. Wiki them if you don't know what they are. I left out some of the more offensive food, where most people might curse me out, for eating them.
