sword play. Yes, realistic sword play. Maybe I'm being lazy but I don't want to scan through
all the mangas in the advanced search for 'swords' to find exactly what I want because I know majority of them would be fantasy or supernatural.

I don't want fantasy little sword fights where they swing and some magical power attacks the other person like ten feet away and breaks some big rock. Or shots in the manga where they're just doing some cool pose in the manga and really nothing else... I want legit fighting. O:
I would like something realistic, or something close enough to it.
A few other things to consider:
Shounen (I can't take shoujo action mangas too seriously... I just can't.)
It doesn't have to be 100% sword fighting stuff as long as there is some and is there frequently
Non-ecchi

I've already read through Til Death Do us Part (which I would say is close enough to realism) and Dolls.

biggrin Thank you for your time.

Vagabond
Sidooh

I haven't read far into these, only a few chapters, but there is real sword play.

Ignoring your inability to take shoujo action manga seriously: The Scarlet Chair and Basara

I mean, if you can take the sword fighting in Until Death Do Us Part seriously...

Other than demons and crazy strength Berserk is pretty realistic in fighting. And there isn't any of that crap where the main characters losing like crazy and pulls out some random power or the "power of friendship" to win.

and @Monkry; Samurai deeper kyo isn't very realistic, it has a lot of the "magic" stuff flying out and cutting people far away, and fire and water etc coming out of swords randomly.

Lol, not entirely seriously.
It just had a lot of sword play in it.

Rurouni Kenshin Some of the techniques are a little far-fetched, but they are all technically possible. One of my favorite mangas of all time.

Historie - awesome series.
not much sword fights but there's a good chunk of them, Its more on battle tactics and war.
Ares - war, swordplay, sword fights there's almost too much of them.
