Why do you guys think Kaname left? He previously said that it's his original goal. But what really is his goal? For Yuuki's well-being? What's your guess?

And about Kaname killing aidou's father, can you come up with reasons why he did that? Is it because he wants to make aidou the head of their clan?

Here's what we do know: For a long time now, Kaname has been talking about some big plan that he had, but which he was hesitating on putting into action. Before leaving, he tells Yuuki that for a time, while living with her, he thought he might not put his plan into motion; however, he'd come to the decision that pursuing his goals was most important. He also seems to have come to this decision after revealing his past to Yuuki. (When we saw Kaname + Rido talking some chapters back, he was still hesitating.)

So from all of these things, I'm assuming Kaname's plan has nothing to do with Yuuki. She seems to have been the distraction from the plan, not the cause of it.

I'm pretty sure whatever this plan is, it was a decision he'd come to long ago. Whenever he talks about it in the manga, he always gives the impression that it was a decision made in the distant past, before he was revived by Rido, which means Yuuki had nothing to do with it. I'm guessing seeing his past again when he showed it to Yuuki must have reminded him of the plan and firmed up his resolution to go ahead with it. That's the only reason he would have gone running off right then and there rather than at any other point in time during the year Yuuki and Kaname lived together.

As to the nature of the plan, Kaname has a lot of anger toward vampire society and the way it's run, particularly in how purebloods are treated as untouchable beings. His final words to Aidou's dad (that we were able to hear) give this impression. So I'm also guessing, whatever Kaname's plan is, it involves killing all the purebloods. In his memories, after the Hooded Woman died, Kaname told the Hunters that their inescapable duty, in payment for the Hooded Woman's life, was to kill vampires. So in an absolute worst-case scenario, Kaname wants all vampires dead, not just purebloods. It's possible the manga might make him go in this direction since that was Zero's attitude originally, and now they're (very, very slowly) trying to mellow him out. So maybe the mangaka is making them swap roles.

I really don't think Kaname killed Aidou's dad to put Aidou in charge of their clan. If Kaname wanted Aidou in charge, why not just tell his dad to step down as clan head or disappear for a while? Aidou's dad was never shown as anything other than a nice guy. His last words to Yuuki about her standing up to things she sees as bad prove that. So I don't see how killing him could have benefited anybody in a good way. The manga seems to be taking the attitude that killing Aidou's dad was a very, very bad thing no matter the reasons. Yuuki herself doesn't seem to be against the idea of Kaname being brought to justice for it. She wants to know his reasons for doing it, but she hasn't once tried to offer excuses on his behalf or beg anybody for mercy. That's pretty telling.

So that's the best I got for you. The stupid mangaka is ridiculously vague and mysterious where it concerns Kaname, which I find frustrating.

I just hope Zero kills him. I've been waiting since forever fro him to kill Kaname.

You know though that if he is trying to get rid of all the purebloods when he comes after Yuuki, or he sends someone else (and he will have to if that is his plan) it will be the moment Zero finally steps up and gets over the whole Yuuki is a vampire thing.

Wow your post actually makes sense. It made me doubt my thoughts. ^__^
As each chapter gets updated, more questions kept on popping out which makes my mind go: @___@

I don't want Kaname to die by Zero's hands. ;-;

If he does die, I want him to die by Yuuki's arms. I dont know why though. ^^;
I think I'll be comfortable by that even though I dont want him to die.
