I actually rather liked that part in Sarasah, since he had such a shocked face. Did the storyline ever return to that era? >.>

I second Flowers of Evil. That manwhua really left an impression on me, but you really have to read on to the end. Tragedy it may be, but it doesn't distinguish the after-effect it gives you at the end. Truly amazing story. Breathtaking.

Even though Bokurano doesn't exactly fit your request, I still want to suggest it because it's such an amazing manga. Really tragic though... (You can probably tell I like the manga from my picture and signature.

I think the you really have to check out Elfen Lied! I think it fits your requirements in that an evil deed was done (I don't want to spoil it ;3) although it is a tragedy. I think you should check it out!

p.s. there's also an anime to go with it. The theme song is my favorite!!!

Sorry, I'm not too fond of tragedies...I'll take a quick look at them though.

I've already read Onani Master Kurosawa and love it. ^^ I've watched some of Elfen Lied, but I couldn't make it past the first episode. I'm not good with tragedy nor excessive gore. I do like the song though.
