Here you can post all kinds of recent accomplishments/developments/studies about science and technology.. You can also post interesting recent facts..

With recent, I mean in the last month or so..

Here are some few:

24/10
A study: Apparantly being single or chewing gum alot helps you from getting obese.. laugh

25/10
Another Study: Career women seem to live longer.. laugh And people who smoke make the air even more unhealthier.. Which we already know..

26/10
When a woman is pregnant, her memory doesn't work as good as before.. Due to the Progesteron that is being made, it apparantly influences your memory.. Also almost 1/3 of the monkeys are in danger of being extinguished.. eek Poor monkeys..

28/10
Mp3-Players disrupt pacemakers, if they're in close proximity of each other..

29/10
The amount of CO2 in the world seems to get bigger than expected.. And also hundreds of Black Holes have been found..

3/11
If you stimulate some specific nerves in your brain with electric shocks, you'll get an 'out-of-body' experience..

5/11
Being obese, increases the chance of having cancer..

7/11
A direct look and pretty smile makes you more attractive.. laugh

8/11
Operation on a 4-armed, 4-legged girl has been succesful.. They've safely removed the excess limbs.. It seems it was the cause of an underdeveloped Siamese twin..

12/11
Women with wide hips are smarter.. laugh I don't know why, but it has something to do with Omega3-acids that are stored their hips..

13/11
An arm prosthesis that can be controled by your thoughts is now a fact..

15/11
Apparantly men talk more than women.. laugh Though the difference is little.. And when they speak; men usually try to convince the person they're speaking with, while women try to express the connection/bond between them..

Now you can post all kinds of posts like these, as long as they're recent..

Actually I think women talk 3 times more than men. Have to look it up. And about the girl with 4 legs and hands. She reminded me of the Tokyo Akazukin character with 4 arms.

Stereotypically, women talk more than men. Traditionally, they're "quiet". But of course, that's a tradition of past generations.

I can't remember anything from the last month, but I remember reading something about growing a person's blood vessels instead of using a transplant.

Anyone else here interested in fuel cells, nuclear power, and other energy resources?

http://www.solarhealing.com/about.htm

Apparently, there is a photosynthetic person who gets his food from the sun, as to eating.

Also: http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20071116/lf_nm_life/initials_perfor mance_dc;_ylt=AuL8dUs4QvPKNxksRl3eppqs0NUE

Apparently, this scientist believes that having C, D, or K names will cause a person to do less well than say an A, or B.

I wish the person would remember that every letter has a boatload of various names. The example of Dan and Dai would be that they're quite different names.

UN Panel Offers Dire Warming Forecast:
Quote
"The Earth is hurtling toward a warmer climate at a quickening pace, a Nobel-winning U.N. scientific panel said in a landmark report released Saturday, warning of inevitable human suffering and the threat of extinction for some species...."

Pretty interesting..

don't remember the name...but they're finally addressing the global warming issue...
apparently, plans are to make all buildings self powered using hydrogen cells taken from garbage, solar power, wind power are a must on all buildings spain already has a mandatory rule for all buildings to have solar panels or so i hear...and they're also developing hydrogen powered engines but currently development costs to billions and costing to a million dollars a car though the visionary states that is not the case...the only problem left would be the meat production...

That is wicked, but I can barely believe it. He must have chloroplasts growing in his skin or something! Maybe he secretly fused his DNA with that of a plant.

SWEET! I want to drive on one!

And from now on, I will be constantly stalking this thread for interesting topics to write about in my science column on a school newspaper. I already used the solar healing idea.

Oh, and here's something on the thermobaric bomb:

Sucking the Oxygen Out of a Cave
Russian Daddy of all bombs!

And all of you who've taken a year of chemistry probably already know this, but I simply must post it because it's awesome:

Brainiac Alkali Metals

And Nitrogen Triiodide, which explodes on contact with just about anything:

Nitrogen Triiodide Detonation

Yes, I like explosions.

No, it's not proven, and I don't really believe it myself.
