I don't remember the title of that shoujo which is about a girl who is attacked by a boy thief who broke into her room. Later on it turned out that he wanted to help somebody by finding a cat? picture? and in fact he wasn't a bad character. I think they attended the same high school, and later became a couple. After that another girl appeared and wanted that boy as her boyfriend or so? There was sth with a ring, that it fell into the river, perhaps As far as I remember there was 1 or 2 volumes.

Might be Mondoumuyou!, Honey Honey no Sutekina Bouken or 20 Mensou ni Onegai!! and its sequel. They all sound about right in varying degrees, but I haven't actually read any of them.
